Negotiations on a border wall continue. Supposedly a deal has been reached. It is not clear if real progress has been made. The Democrats apparently dropped their proposal to limit the number of detained immigrants caught inside the U.S. to a daily average of 16,500. There is currently no such limit.
This is insane. That’s like saying that the number of people detained for murder, assault, robbery, rape, etc., in this country should be limited to a specific number each day. Do the Democrats want to encourage more crime in America? That is just what this proposal would do. Hopefully this was fake bargaining position so that they could say that they compromised their position. However, I doubt this is the case. The fact that such a position is ridiculous is irrelevant to them.
Ahead of a rally in El Paso, Texas, President Donald Trump issued a new video calling for a border wall. The video posted Monday offers testimonials from residents of the city advocating for the wall along the U.S.-Mexico border. They say the wall is needed for public safety, arguing that El Paso’s border fence has helped the city.
Earlier in the day a Rasmussen poll of PDJT’s approval had reached 52% the highest it has been. This is despite the unending attacks on the President in the media and entertainment industry which have reached a crescendo level. This has to be driving the political elites bananas.
An overflow crowd (more than 20,000) was on hand to support the President Monday. Speaking to a sea of red MAGA hats about those in Congress who oppose a border wall, PDJT noted “We’re up against people who want to allow criminals in our society.” PDJT is right. More criminals loose in the country will bring about a clamor for more control by the government. This is what the left wants. Socialism/Marxism cannot be put in place without this.
A mile or so away 65 were lined up to see Beto O’Rourke try to make the wall story about racism. Some commentators in the media have once again adopted this position as well. This is a common tactic of the left when they cannot debate an issue on its merits. The wall is not racism. The wall helps to defend the rule of law. Allowing “open borders” is a violation of law. This whole act is just a betrayal of everyday Americans by the Democratic Party.
I believe that the Democrats think they can outsmart Trump on this because they believe they are the smartest people in the room. They believe that they have the moral high ground. They do not recognize that they are down in the gutter.
They have rejected (in some cases not even listened to) the testimony of experts. Why? They do not want a wall. The Democrats do not want to impede the flow of illegal immigrants into the country. They need them in order to advance their globalist agenda. They don’t want a fence. They don’t want new agents. They have been talking about reducing funding for ICE. That is the bottom line. And so I believe there won’t be any real compromise here.
What I do believe is that even if there is no funding coming from the Democrats to protect Americans, PDJT will find a way to get the wall built.
