On Wednesday pro-Sharia law Rep. Rashida Tlaib announced plans to file an impeachment resolution against President Donald Trump. The Michigan Democrat aims to introduce the resolution in the coming weeks.
“For me, as a member of Congress, it’s so important that I make sure that I check this president. … It’s really important that the president of the United States is investigated,” Tlaib told CNN.
On Tlaib’s first day as a member of Congress, the Detroit Free Press published an editorial she co-authored under the headline “Now is the time to begin impeachment proceedings against Trump.” The article asserted the president is “a direct and serious threat to our country.”
In this rambling opinion piece, Tlaib used the scatter-shot technique of accusing the President. PDJT was guilty of attacking the Constitution, our democracy, the rule of law and the people who are in this country. No evidence was advanced to support any of this.
She continued spraying attacks around the room with little regard for the truth. She claimed that overwhelming evidence exists for impeachable offenses. Yet she provided none. This was simply a campaign speech inside an editorial piece.
Of course, this is in direct opposition to what the Democrats said during the election campaign. Then they were interested in governing and “bringing civility” back to Washington.
A question for Rep. Tlaib. If overwhelming evidence exists, what need do the Democrats have for holding the three-ring circus that is going on in the House? If overwhelming evidence exists, Reps. Schiff, Nadler and Cummings are just wasting taxpayer dollars holding hearings. If overwhelming evidence exists, let’s get on with the impeachment. Oh, that’s right. There is no evidence. Get over it. PDJT won the election despite the attempts to rig it by members of the opposition party. Start working for the American people. That’s your job.
Tlaib took to Twitter on Wednesday to confirm her announcement, saying, ”Our democracy must be protected.” She misspoke. The real message was “The Democratic Party must be protected.” Protected from whom? The American people who are getting tired of this BS.
This effort is all about narrative management. The Democrats must keep the public’s mind within a very tight, narrow echo chamber. They want the public inundated with stories about impeachment. This way it will seem to the public that there must be something there. However, there is no there there.
It appears that the freshman legislator is being used by the Party bosses whether she realizes it or not. This announcement is a trial balloon to see where the public is on impeachment. I am sure that the Democrats have commissioned a number of polls to see what they should do next.
It appears that this announcement is also an attempt to create a smokescreen to deflect the public’s attention from the antisemitism problem that the Democratic Party has. It is clear that there is a growing hatred for Jews among the Democratic base. Political resolutions on the floor of the House will not obscure the fact that Reps. Omar, Tlaib and AOC have a ‘final solution‘ which is to see the nation of Israel destroyed.
