This week we will see the second round of what the media call debates among those wanting to be the person nominated for President from the Democratic Party. A very serious question regarding these debates is what insane giveaway programs will we see unveiled this week? The Democrats have no ideology other than Orange Man Bad and bribing voters through giveaway programs. The Democrats cannot compete in the marketplace of ideas.
Each candidate is trying to outdo the other in giving things away. Almost all have signed onto reparations for blacks. Elizabeth Warren has expanded reparations to include Native Americans and gays. Medicare for all is another popular giveaway. Tuition-free college is on a number of plates. All of this means that taxes will go up, way up. AOC’s target rate of 70% would not be enough.
Forgiving student loan debt has become popular with a bunch. Kamala Harris wants to give families $500 per month. She would pay for it by destroying the American economy. Taxes would go up on corporations under her proposals. That would mean substantial price inflation in the things we buy.
Elizabeth Warren has not found a giveaway she doesn’t like yet. This may be because she has risen slowly in the polls as she has scrambled to find new ways to redistribute the money that hard-working Americans earn. She has proposed “free” child care as well as subsidized housing for low income families. Cory Booker has proposed “baby bonds” which would provide $50,000 to lower income children when they turn 18.
This is insane. This is socialism on steroids. All of this would devastate the American economy. Why work when your bills would be taken care of by those who do work. What would happen to American drive and ambition to better oneself?
Liberty is a right and a gift! But it comes wrapped in personal responsibility. Each of us is free to choose our own path. Each of us is responsible for those choices. These proposals would inhibit those freedoms and would eventually turn America into a socialist hellhole like Venezuela.
Hopefully none of these people will get anywhere near the Presidency.
