Don Lemon Loses

Sheriff David Clarke (Milwaukee County, Wisconsin) went on CNN with Don Lemon several years ago to talk about police shootings and police violence.  Clarke’s message is more important today than it was when he was on Don Lemon’s show.

What the media won’t acknowledge is what Lemon was desperately trying to keep Clarke from expounding on.  That is, Black Lives Matter (BLM) fuels anti-police violence.  Clarke points out that he had been predicting violence against law enforcement officers for two years (that would be since the Ferguson incident).

Clarke knows that Lemon wants him to talk about peace and civility in the wake of the murder of 3 Baton Rouge police officers.  Clarke refuses to bow and scrape in front of Lemon.  Lemon asks Clarke to be civil so that Lemon can steer the narrative back to the problem of “rogue” cops who shoot unarmed black men.  Lemon desperately wants to narrow the focus of the discussion to police brutality.  Lemon wants to hear his own opinion coming out of Clarke’s mouth.  Clarke refuses to be had.  I guess being presented with facts was not being civil.

Eventually Lemon gives up as his producers realize that Clarke might just break up their false narrative in front of a national TV audience.

America urgently needs individuals like David Clarke to steer this country back from the edge of the abyss. Black, white, Asian, it doesn’t matter. We need articulate, educated and compassionate leaders in every community like David Clarke. In these dark days, people like David Clarke can help to lead us back to the light.

In the second half of the presentation David Clarke torches the idea that most cops are bad people.

Being a bit older than most, what I am reminded of today is how our soldiers were treated when they returned from Vietnam.  They were spit upon, ridiculed, shamed and denigrated.  Physical violence was visited upon them.  This is exactly what BLM, Antifa, the Democrats and the media are doing to our police officers today.  Without strong leadership from our President, this will not end well.
