Joe Biden left his basement retreat and ventured into Pennsylvania on Monday. This was billed as a campaign stop and several dozen supporters did show up at the location where Biden appeared. However, they were not permitted into the building where Biden gave his speech.
The media video showed Biden speaking in front of a backdrop of US flags. Polling has apparently told the Democrats that US flags might help Biden garner some votes. Such flags had been missing from the primary road show.
Biden assailed Trump about the violence that Democratic mayors and governors have allowed to happen. Yes, that’s right. Biden is blaming Trump for the violence that Democratic foot soldiers like Antifa and Black Lives Matter have unleashed on America. You cannot make this stuff up.
Biden also said he opposes a ban on fracking. Biden said this because he was in Pennsylvania and significant numbers of high-paying jobs are connected to fracking. Biden has no intention of honoring this statement. It is just pandering for votes. This is the exact opposite of what he said earlier during the primaries.

BTW where were the CNN fact checkers on this? Biden is in favor of expensive energy in this country just as he wants to raise taxes by trillions of dollars. Eliminating fracking would raise the price of natural gas pushing electric companies to have to raise rates.
Biden then went on to talk about COVID-19.

To say that Biden stumbled would be journalistic malpractice. This is the reason that Biden hides in his basement. When he comes out, he inevitably gets lost trying to speak about something.
An oddity about today’s speech was the setup for it. Biden gave his speech to half a dozen journalists. No one else was permitted in the venue. Why?

Obviously polling is telling the Democrats that Biden needs to be seen outside his basement burrow. However, Biden took no questions from reporters exiting quickly after the speech was over.
How long will it be before Biden appears in public again?
