Things That Run Through An Idle Mind

Was it just a coincidence that Amy Coney Barrett was confirmed and sworn in as the ninth justice on Hillary Clinton’s birthday?

On Hillary’s 73rd birthday in prime time, PDJT presided over the inauguration of Amy Coney Barrett as the ninth justice on the Supreme Court. To make the moment perfect, he had Justice Clarence Thomas swear her in.  Was this the ultimate finger in the eye to Hillary?

Holding off on Barrett who appears to have the makings of an outstanding justice, was a stroke of political acumen by PDJT.  PDJT could have nominated her to succeed Justice Kennedy.  However, he chose Brett Kavanaugh and the Democrats showed just how loathsome they could be.  This resulted in the loss of 4 Senate seats (should have been five except for Arizona voter fraud) for the Democrats.

Barrett was the best choice to succeed RGB. A woman succeeding a woman.  At 48, she is now the youngest justice. Her appointment dropped the average age of the justices by 4 years, such was her age gap with the late RGB.  Her short speech after the swearing in ceremony was a primer on how the three branches of government are supposed to work.  She was also gracious in thanking all those who came forward to support her family during the confirmation process.

Let us look forward to three decades of outstanding legal reasoning from our newest justice.

Another item from an idle mind.

Pence went to Minnesota while his predecessor hibernated in Delaware.

The Star-Tribune whined, “The rally exceeded state limits on the number of attendees after a weekend dust-up about Trump’s Duluth rally.”

All summer the “mostly peaceful protests” that destroyed Minneapolis exceeded those limits as well.  Where was the Star Tribune then?
