During the Obama administration, Osama bin Laden was hunted down and killed. Shortly thereafter VP Joe Biden announced to the world that it was Seal Team 6 that had carried out the operation. Why Biden did this is unknown. Was he trying to show the world that he was “in the know?” Did his desire to be seen as relevant in the Obama administration prompt him to do something as stupid as this?
Biden’s reckless action put at risk the lives of every member of Seal Team 6. The Taliban and other jihadists eager to avenge bin Laden now knew which unit to target. Stunned and shocked, Seal Team Six members immediately realized they were going to be hunted by al Qaeda sympathizers.
Members of Seal Team 6 called their families and told them to wipe out all connection to them, including social media, and disassociate themselves as far away from them as possible. They too would be in grave danger as the Taliban would attempt to find them in retaliation.
Not long after, most of the members of the unit were killed when the helicopter they were riding in was shot down by a rocket-propelled grenade. This came to be known as Extortion 17.
And, if elected, this is the man with whom we will entrust the nuclear codes. This man has no business being anywhere near the White House.
