Last week I mentioned that Denmark had decided to require a “corona passport.” This would be needed for people to participate in Danish society. This “passport” would indicate that the holder had been vaccinated or had had the virus and had recovered.
As I mentioned then, this is just another attempt for government to control what the public is allowed to do. Tighter top-down control of the population is a never-ending quest of totalitarian governments. The Democrats in America have been salivating at the possibility of implementing the same thing here. It would provide the Communists Democrats with another method of controlling the people.
Now it has begun here in America. Rutgers University, that’s the State University of New Jersey, has announced that students attending on-site classes will be required to have been inoculated with the COVID-19 vaccine.
(RUTGERS ANNOUNCEMENT) – Rutgers University will require the COVID-19 vaccine for students who are enrolled for the 2021 fall semester.
Assurances from the federal government that vaccines will be available for all Americans by the end of May and assessments by public health experts prompted university leaders to adjust the vaccine requirements for the fall semester.
“We are committed to health and safety for all members of our community, and adding COVID-19 vaccination to our student immunization requirements will help provide a safer and more robust college experience for our students,” said Rutgers President Jonathan Holloway.
In other words, in order to participate in society at Rutgers, you will be required to show proof that you have been vaccinated with the COVID-19 vaccine. And note this requirement is only for the students. Faculty and staff will not be required to get the vaccine.
So an illness that we now know has an almost 100% cure rate with safe medicines that have been around for decades, requires a vaccine. Who’s is benefitting here? Where are the cost benefit analyses?
It will be interesting to see what happens to Rutgers’ enrollment. Will some of those who have already registered be demanding their money back? I have already seen comments on some forums where parents are changing their minds about sending their child there. When Mizzou decided to curb free speech on campus, their alumni donations dropped like a stone, students transferred and their enrollment plummeted.
You can be sure that other universities are watching to see what happens economically at Rutgers. Perhaps parents who are searching for a school should start asking if the school is thinking about following the “Rutgers model.” And tell the school that a “yes” means they will not be sending their child there.
Is what Rutgers is doing legal? Keep in mind that the vaccines (there are currently three) are being distributed under an Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) from the FDA. They have not been formerly approved by the FDA. And it will be a long time before formal approval is received. Can Rutgers legally coerce their students into doing this? Isn’t there a law against requiring someone to take an experimental medicine?
And that is what the vaccines are, experimental medicines. And since Rutgers is requiring this, can Rutgers be held liable if there is a bad result from getting the vaccine? Remember the pharmaceutical companies are NOT on the hook for liability. By law there is no way to sue those who created the vaccines. And since the students are being required to get the vaccine, why aren’t the staff?
In a sane world, Rutgers’ vaccine requirement would be illegal. The same would be true for “vaccine passports” to get on trains, buses and planes. However, we are not currently living in a sane world.
Not to be outdone, the erstwhile Governor of NY, the one who forced COVID patients into nursing homes and other long-term care facilities, has announced the “Excelsior Pass.” This is NY State’s version of a “corona passport.” As previously stated, this is being issued under the idea of protecting the public. Again this is from an illness that has an almost 100% cure rate. The fact that NY would be an early entry into this lunacy was expected since the state has a governor who led the country in deaths among senior citizens.
The state is expected to coerce businesses into supporting the system by “allowing” more people into a venue if they adopt using the system. Once again this is more governmental control over what people are or are not allowed to do.
The current Democratic administration in Washington (sorry, I cannot call it the Biden administration since Biden clearly is not in charge) has jumped on the bandwagon. The Washington Post recently reported on such efforts. The administration is working on a “passport” that Americans must have to engage in business and travel. It would track those who did or did not take the vaccine.
The media working in conjunction with the left will continue to hype the imminent mortality and danger of anyone who does not get vaccinated. They will run “public service” ads calling on the public to be patriotic and protect the public health by getting vaccinated. If you do not get vaccinated, the rhetoric will cast you as selfish, self-centered and otherwise unfit to be with “good” people.
The bars on our cages are falling into place quickly. Internal passports are one of those absurdities you read about but never believe you will see in reality. The COVID “crisis” is just too good of a crisis for those who would radically transform America. The government is scaring people into lining up for the shot and submitting to the requirement to “show papers” to go anywhere.
