The news has dominated the news cycle.  Liberal heads are exploding all over the country.  There has been and will continue to be an avalanche of commentary over the days and weeks ahead.  A major leak never before seen of Supreme Court deliberations.  A draft opinion by Justice Alito was leaked to Politico that suggested strongly that Roe v Wade and Casey would be overturned.  Now, until the final report comes out, this is not the final word.  When that will happen is anyone’s guess.

Chief Justice Roberts confirmed the authenticity of the draft opinion and called for an investigation.  This leak is stunning and likely an illegal attempt to bully the court.  The Left has become increasingly brazen in their attempts to control everything in the country.

Carrie Severino, president of the Judicial Crisis Network, writes:

“The reported draft opinion is thoughtful, scholarly, and thorough. It does the work that the majority in Roe and Casey refused to do, looking to the Constitution itself to determine whether it includes a right to an abortion. The opinion concludes it does not.”

None of this matters.  The act of leaking is a bare knuckles attempt to coerce the Court into ruling a specific way.  This is what is done in third world countries.  Apparently, it is now something that is done here.

Constitutional scholar Jonathan Turley noted:

The fact that some are praising this leak shows how utterly craven we have become in our politics. There appears no ethical rule or institutional interest that can withstand this age of rage.

This act of leaking the draft opinion clearly puts the lives of the justices at risk.  That risk also extends to their families.

Of course, this is not the first time the Left has threatened the Supreme Court.  Mollie Hemingway at The Federalist writes:

The Supreme Court was attacked by a crazed mob in the aftermath of the Kavanaugh confirmation. Hundreds of raucous protesters tried to break down the 13-ton bronze doors. They scaled the building and its statues and threw tomatoes and water bottles at the cars of justices who had attended his swearing-in. The mob even went after Justices Ruth Bader Ginsburg and Elena Kagan. 

Mobs had also rioted in Senate buildings in the leadup to Kavanaugh’s confirmation. They had disrupted the official constitutional proceedings associated with his nomination and review.

I don’t know but this sounds an awful lot like an insurrection to me.  How many of those people were arrested and denied bail for a year after doing this?

Hemingway went on:

Even after the attacks on the Supreme Court, Sen. Chuck Schumer went in March 2020 to the steps of the Supreme Court and specifically threatened Justices Neil Gorsuch and Kavanaugh. Referring to an abortion case, he said, “I want to tell you, Gorsuch, I want to tell you, Kavanaugh, you have released the whirlwind and you will pay the price. You won’t know what hit you if you go forward with these awful decisions.”

Were any referrals made to the DOJ for these actions by a sitting US Senator?

This is all a diversion.  Abortion on demand is the Holy Grail for radical and violent leftists.  The reason this came out now (remember the draft is from February) is because 2000 Mules premiered on Monday.  2,000 Mules is a documentary outlining how left-wing political activists targeted key precincts within seven key states through the use of carefully coordinated ballot harvesting operations to steal the 2020 presidential election.   The evidence-packed documentary has begun premiering in theaters.

The Democrats needed something to distract the public from 2000 Mules.  This leak accomplishes this.

At least one Senator has come out and argued that the leaker should not be sought.  Senator Sheldon Whitehouse disgraced his office doing this.  It wasn’t done out of some patriotic duty. This isn’t a whistleblower situation. It’s a political operation. It’s about their affinity for infanticide. It’s about trying to do anything to distract the American people from the disastrous leadership under Joe Biden.

Let’s not let them get away with this.  Share the 2000 Mules trailer far and wide.  At the same time let your Senators know that such actions within the Supreme Court are tantamount to sedition.  The leaker should be disbarred.  These actions certainly are an attempt to interfere in a government proceeding.  Isn’t that what some of the J6 protesters were charged with?
