The J6 Unselect Committee has announced that they are referring PDJT to the DOJ for charges. Lawmakers made the stunning decision during the panel’s final public hearing before the committee is dissolved at the end of this year.
These are pompous a***s who have nothing better to do than waste American taxpayer dollars and to turn the country into a communist hellhole. They are domestic terrorists intent on subjugating the American public.
The recommended charges were obstruction of an official proceeding, conspiracy to defraud the United States, conspiracy to make a false statement and ‘inciting,’ ‘aiding’ or ‘assisting’ an insurrection.
Let’s break these charges down.
Obstruction of an official proceeding…apparently holding a peaceful political rally in Washington DC on January 6, 2021 is now obstructing an official proceeding of the government. Will this become the catch phrase for denying the people the right to peaceably assemble in the future? Will people who show up to peacefully protest against abortion be charged with this crime in states where abortion is permitted? If this kind of charge can be levied for the January 6th protests, how far can we be from the denial of all protesting across the country because it might affect a government proceeding?
Conspiracy to defraud the United States…I think they got this one almost right. There certainly seemed to be clear effort on the part of PDJT to expose the fraud in Washington. Since the day he came down the escalator at Trump Towers in NYC, his mission has been to expose corruption and deprive DC of its business model. That business model saw gargantuan feeding at the public trough by many Washington elite. The real charge here is “PDJT upset our grift and caused us to not make as much money.”
Conspiracy to make a false statement…Apparently making statements to the National Archives that his personal papers were just that is some kind of conspiracy. Of course, conspiracies require at least two people. So, with whom did he conspire? On another note, if conspiracy to make a false statement is a crime, all 535 legislators in Washington are guilty.
Inciting, aiding or assisting an insurrection…apparently being friends with and comforting disgruntled voters is now an insurrection. Then only armed conflict that took place on January 6th, was the murder of an unarmed protester by a Capitol police officer.
As others have noted, “Incitement” has a very specific meaning in law, which the Supreme Court carefully crafted to avoid violating the first amendment. It’s speech that is both (1) subjectively intended and (2) objectively likely to cause (3) imminent commission of a crime. I was at PDJT’s speech. Nothing PDJT said was in any way aimed at getting anyone to do more than march on the Capitol, which is a constitutional right and a time-honored American tradition.
Under the law both “assistance” and “giving aid and comfort” require acts; mere words can’t qualify. Oh, and what riot there was did not start until AFTER the Capitol police fired flash bangs into the crowd. Those were acts. Were they incitements to commit a crime? And were Capitol police officers holding open doors to the Capitol Building incitements?
All of this is a message to the American public. Oppose our policies and we will come after you. Speak out against the government and you will be arrested and thrown into solitary confinement like in any other communist country.
The time to take a stand is now. Let your reps in Washington know where you stand. Let them know that freedom and liberty will not be extinguished from this country.
