Not forcing anyone? So, the Freedom Convoy that descended on Ottawa was there for what reason? People’s access to their life savings was taken away for what reason? People were threatened with the loss of custody of their children why?

The Biden administration wants people with good credit scores to subsidize those whose credit scores are less than robust. The Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA) has instituted a rule change for mortgages that increase mortgage costs for homeowners with good credit to offset those who have riskier credit. This sounds like the resurrection of liar’s loans in a more subtle form that caused the financial crash in 2008.
The stated goal is for boosting homeownership among minorities so as to generate wealth in those communities.
These changes violate the fundamental principle of risk-based pricing, namely that lower-risk borrowers should pay lower prices for access to credit than higher-risk borrowers. It would undermine the idea of responsible use of one’s financial assets.
What could possibly go wrong?
