Brexit To Go Forward?

Comments Off on Brexit To Go Forward?

After a week that saw the British Parliament vote against the British people and the British government but for the unelected bureaucrats in Brussels, it appears that Boris Johnson may have been playing rope-a-dope with his opposition.

Brexit is the exit of the UK from the EU.  The British people had voted for this a few years ago despite massive ad spending by multi-nationals and others to prevent it.  Johnson was elected because the British people were tired of the constant stalling that was going on.  October 31 was the latest deadline of multiple extensions previously agreed to by former PM Theresa May.  If no deal was reached, then a so-called no-deal exit would take place.

The EU will never agree to any exit deal.  They do not want an exit.  Such an action would probably embolden a few other countries to consider the same move.  The EU is top-down control over most of Europe by unelected bureaucrats.  The EU is fighting to prevent their own extinction.  Such extinction is probably inevitable based on current circumstances.

Why A Liberal Jew Voted For Trump

Comments Off on Why A Liberal Jew Voted For Trump

Evan Sayet was a liberal Jew.  After 9-11 he became a conservative thinker and recently wrote the following when he realized how off base the left was:

Trump’s ‘lack of decorum, dignity, and statesmanship’

My Leftist friends (as well as many ardent #NeverTrumpers) constantly ask me if I’m not bothered by Donald Trump’s lack of decorum. They ask if I don’t think his tweets are “beneath the dignity of the office.”

Here’s my answer: We Right-thinking people have tried dignity. There could not have been a man of more quiet dignity than George W. Bush as he suffered the outrageous lies and politically motivated hatreds that undermined his presidency. ...

Brexit

There has been an interesting development on the other side of “the pond” which is the English way of referring to the Atlantic Ocean.  For more than two years the British government under Theresa May had been trying to come up with a plan to exit the European Union (EU). Most of this action under Theresa May appears to have been a stalling action.  The pols hoped that at some point the British would lose interest and the fact that the voting population had spoken out in favor of leaving the EU would disappear into history.

The fact that the Brits had voted for Brexit was as surprising as PDJT winning the Presidency here.  The polls had all shown that Brexit would go down to defeat.  Supposedly there was little chance it would pass.  The polls were wrong again.

Stalling eventually cost Theresa May her job.  The people were not happy that the UK was still in the EU.  Boris Johnson’s Party achieved a majority around the idea that he would complete the process including, if needed, a “no-deal” Brexit.

Red Flag Warning

Professor William Jacobson had an interesting piece last week in which he made the point that “The investigators need to be investigated.” In that piece he addressed the utmost priority need for an investigation into the attempted coup.  In his piece Professor Jacobson noted,

Whether Robert Mueller was a mere figurehead or in control, he was a participant. So while he was a sorry figure in the congressional hearings, and his appearance did substantial damage to Democrat and media plans, the gravity of what happened should not be lessened. It almost worked.

The media, of course, was a full participant in what happened. Just when you thought the major organizations who control almost all of popular and social media couldn’t get any worse, they do (emphasis added).  This all takes place while high tech companies put the thumb on the scale by penalizing non-liberal content.

Pictured here are some of the worst ideas of the last 150 years. The Ku Klux Klan, Antifa, and Hamas are not at all new, but receive a lot of attention. To boost their ratings the MSM is happy to focus on whichever agent of chaos is currently trending in the public’s mind.  If none are, then they are happy to create a trend to report on.

“Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.”

I was watching history being made overnight on Saturday into Sunday. So did millions of other people around the world. We all stayed up to watch the first sitting U.S. president cross into North Korea (3:45 AM ET).  PDJT and North Korea’s Chairman Kim Jong-un took another step towards peace.  And South Korea’s President Moon Jae-in was grinning from ear-to-ear.

Panda Exposed

It has been an interesting week in US-China relations.  As recently as a few of weeks ago, China had been threatening to blacklist foreign companies that “sided” with the US in the ongoing trade war.

The move to establish the blacklist came after the United States hit Huawei with an export ban, effectively barring US companies from doing business with the smartphone and telecom equipment maker.

The ban was designed to keep the nation’s networks secure from foreign adversaries.  The concern is that the company’s products could offer the Chinese government a way to spy on sensitive US communications.  Huawei denied the accusations.

In the middle of May, Xi Jinping, China’s leader, had warned his people of a new “Long March.”  “We are here at the starting point of the Long March to remember the time when the Red Army began its journey,” Xi told cheering crowds in Jiangxi province. “We are now embarking on a new Long March, and we must start all over again.”  Jiangxi province is the site of the Red Army’s retreat in 1934-36.  Xi appeared to be warning his people that hardships lay ahead.

Today is the 75th anniversary of the beginning of the end for Hitler’s Germany.

On this day in 1944, Supreme Allied Commander General Dwight D. Eisenhower gave the go-ahead for the largest amphibious military operation in history: Operation Overlord, code named D-Day, the Allied invasion of northern France.   The operation had been delayed one day by bad weather.

NBC Reporter Breaks From The Party Line

NBC & MSNBC News veteran correspondent William Arkin announced his resignation effective Friday over what he described as “Trump circus” reporting that is increasingly favored over real journalism.

Arkin is no supporter of PDJT.  However, he said part of his reason for leaving was the network’s obsession with opposing the president at every turn.  In particular, Arkin, who is anti-war, notes that the MSM automatically oppose any and all peace initiatives coming from PDJT.  He indicates that the MSM have become little more than mouthpieces for the warfare state. ...
