Transportation secretary Pete Buttigieg has returned from paternity leave and held a press conference. Perhaps Buttigieg should have stayed on paternity leave. Then we would not know just how much of an idiot he actually is. Buttigieg actually stated that the design of some underpasses built on the nation’s highway system are racist. In NY Buttigieg said that underpasses that were built too low to allow busses to pass under them was the result of racist decisions during the design of the roads. And this man actually was a leading contender for the Democratic Party nomination before the DNC decided to fix the primaries for Joe Biden.
Shelves are empty in the nation’s stores, inflation is the highest it has been since the Carter administration, gasoline prices are threatening to double before the end of the year and Buttigieg thinks that low underpasses are racist.
Transportation @SecretaryPete: " If an underpass was constructed such that a bus carrying mostly Black and Puerto Rican kids to a beach, […] in New York was designed too low for it to pass by, that that obviously reflects racism that went into those design choices." pic.twitter.com/0XWkDZehYM

If low underpasses were a design choice (they were), were busses with white passengers somehow exempt from being wedged under an overpass? The choice made was about classism not racism. The black population of NYC at the time these underpasses were built was microscopic. And the Puerto Rican population was even lower.
The design choice was about keeping poor people away from certain state parks. It did not matter what the color of one’s skin was. At the time these choices were made, only rich people had cars.

This is typical Democratic narrative. America is a racist hellhole. They come up with new stupid ways to waste money every day by claiming some new form of racism. This is because that is the only rationalization they can come up with for their progression toward communism. They have to create a smokescreen around the fact that they are always increasing government control of all things.
