Members of the girls’ volleyball team at Randolph Union High School in Vermont have been banned from their own locker room for not wanting to change in front of a transgender student who is a male. And an investigation has been started by high school officials into allegations that girls harassed the trans student after he allegedly made inappropriate comments to the girls.
WCAX News reports:
Vermont education policy says students can play sports and use the locker room corresponding to their gender. But some members of the Randolph girls’ volleyball team objected to having a transgender teammate in the room while they were changing.
“It’s a huge thing. Everyone’s asking, ‘So, why aren’t you allowed in the locker room?’” said Blake Allen, who along with her fellow teammates are currently barred from using the locker room after some of the girls on the team objected to allowing a transgender player in the girl’s locker room.
“My mom wants me to do this interview to try to make a change,” Allen said. “I feel like for stating my opinion — that I don’t want a biological man changing with me — that I should not have harassment charges or bullying charges. They should all be dropped.”
Why are high school girls forced to allow a boy who is apparently suffering from a mental illness to change with them? Why is the school investigating them for expressing the fact that they are uncomfortable changing in front of him?
The boy is in the locker room with naked girls. They complained and so they've been kicked out of their own locker room. Bravo, Democrats. https://t.co/wQusGbhWIp

We cannot have biological boys with penises changing next to our daughters in locker rooms, and then have our daughters scolded by the school. This is so backwards. Shame on Vermont!

This issue over locker room access in Vermont is just one in an endless array of “trans rights” in public schools. These “rights” take precedence over the privacy and safety of the vast majority of other students. School districts in some places have responded to student complaints by going on the attack, with accusations of discrimination and bigotry as a means to silence these students. And, to a great degree, they have succeeded in suppressing that dissent.
Gender is just a construct to build ridiculous rules like we see here. The words biological male are a redundancy. There is no other kind of male than what biology gives us. When one uses the term biological male or any other such phrasing, one is allowing the Left to define normality as something that is abnormal. That’s not the case. If a teenage boy wants to prance around a girls’ locker room naked, he is still a male regardless of what he claims.
We wanted girls to have access to team sports because of the leadership and cooperative skills sports build. This was codified in Title IX with the determinant being sex. Male is male and female is female regardless of claims to the contrary. If one continues down this path, girls’ sports will disappear. The opportunity for females to build these skills in the environment of sports will be lost.
I have to admire the courage of Ms. Allen to stand up and speak out. If any “punishment” comes her way from the idiots who run her school, I think a civil suit for damages is in order.
