The egregious misconduct of the FBI continues to go unpunished. In 2021 the DOJ Inspector General condemned FBI conduct in the rape and sexual assault of U.S. Gymnasts. The IG report revealed that FBI agents facilitated Larry Nassar’s sex crimes by taking no action despite numerous witness statements to them. And the FBI did not report the sexual assaults to local law enforcement either.
All told, more than 300 women and girls were assaulted by Nasser. These women and girls are forever scarred. It did not have to be that way if the FBI had bothered to investigate the allegations.
No FBI person was ever taken to task for the findings of the Inspector General that included lying to the Inspector General about the investigation.
Some justice has finally prevailed. Nasser, of course, is incarcerated. And the women and girls assaulted have received settlements from Michigan State University, US Gymnastics, the US Olympic and Paralympic Committees. With the settlement from the DOJ, the total now exceeds $1 billion.
Why was no action taken against agents who failed to perform their duties? Why was no action taken against those agents who lied to the Inspector General? Did thousands of high society elites have access to these girls and women? Does anyone believe that Nasser was the only one involved? Why did Bill Barr take no action?
Was the FBI too busy trying to invent crimes to charge PDJT with? Is the FBI no longer able to properly investigate real crimes? Is their only ability that of entrapping people into crimes the FBI creates like the “kidnapping” of Governor Whitmer?
It is time to get rid of the FBI. The only thing that should remain is the FBI labs. And that should remain only after all administrative personnel at the labs have been replaced.
