Macron loses big in France.  In the first round of the SNAP election, opposition leader Marine Le Pen’s National Rally party has made huge strides in becoming the predominant force in French politics.   The National Rally gains around 34% of the seats, the left-wing Alliance party gets 28% of the seats, and Macron’s centrist party will suffer major loses with only 20% of the seats.

Does this mean that Macron is history?  Hardly.  His current mandate runs until 2027.  Macron will undoubtedly instruct losing candidates in his party to support far-left candidates in the second phase of this SNAP election process.  And, of course, like good little communists centrists, they will do this.

The next round is on Sunday.  Oh, and please note that weeks-long or months-long balloting does not exist in France.

CNN data analyst Harry Enten freaked out over poll numbers for Biden after the debate disaster of last Thursday night, noting that he has never seen numbers this bad for an incumbent president.

This is why Democrats are in full meltdown mode with some of them even insisting that he drop out of the race.

Bloomberg reports:

The DNC is considering formally nominating Joe Biden as early as mid-July to ensure that the president is on the November ballots, while hoping to stamp out intra-party chatter of replacing him after last week’s poor debate performance.

Of course, using the term “poor debate performance” for the debacle that took place is like saying that there were snow flurries overnight when one wakes up to a foot of snow on the ground.

A potential date for Biden’s nomination is July 21, when the Democratic convention’s credentials committee meets virtually, according to people familiar with the matter, who spoke on condition of anonymity. Democrats had already planned to nominate Biden, 81, before their August convention in order to ensure he appears on the ballot in Ohio, which had an Aug. 7 deadline.

Former President Obama had characterized Biden’s performance as a bad debate night.  Rep. Jim Clyburn (SC-6) blamed overpreparation for the disaster.  The fact that Biden could not keep a cogent thought in his head is being ignored.  Are they going to try to snow the public about what everyone saw happen in real time?
