Freedom of speech continues to be under attack in this country. The elite politicians did not worry too much about freedom of speech years ago because very few people could reach a lot of other people without going through gatekeepers like the main stream media. Very few lone wolves crying on a street corner were seen as threats to the narrative that was put out by the establishment.
That has changed. With technology today, a bright, articulate individual who has seen the marionette strings in DC can be a significant threat to the New World Order. As the blindfolds disappear, more and more people see the world for the way it is rather than for how the elites would like us to see the world.
One example that immediately comes to mind is the actions of JD Vance during the VP debate on Tuesday evening. Walz and his moderator partners played up corporate media’s Springfield, Ohio, narrative. That narrative is that Trump and Vance have politicized the wave of Haitian refugees dropped into the Rust Belt town by the Biden administration. There has been a significant uptick in crime and some refugees have been eating ducks, cats and dogs.
The media have worked overtime to silence Springfield citizens and to keep such stories off the airwaves. Walz accused Vance and Trump of “villainizing” and “dehumanizing” the illegal aliens for talking about this.
Brennan couldn’t help herself. Despite CBS News opting to not engage in real-time fact-checking as ABC News did in one-sided fashion during last month’s presidential debate, the moderator attempted to correct Vance on the Haitian issue.
“Just to clarify for our viewers, Springfield, Ohio, does have a large number of Haitian migrants who have legal status, temporary protected status,” she said, turning to her co-moderator with a warm sense of self-satisfaction.
Legal status? This is mumbo jumbo being performed by the administration. Vance quickly tried to correct the record.
“Margaret,” he said, as the reporter tried to stifle the senator and move on. “The rules are that you guys weren’t going to factcheck, and since you’re factchecking me I think it’s important to say what’s actually going on.”
Vance noted the CBP One app, which allows an illegal immigrant to apply for asylum or parole “and be granted legal status at the wave of a Kamala Harris open border wand.”
“That is not a person coming in, applying for a green card and waiting 10 years. That is the facilitation of illegal immigration by our own leadership,” Vance said.
Soon after, debate producers cut Vance’s microphone, then Walz’s.
Years ago, Brennan’s statement would have been accepted at face value by most of the country. This time, however, many people on social media amplified Vance’s statements. The “fact-checkers” got fact checked.
This brings to the forefront John Kerry’s recent statements about the First Amendment. Kerry specifically focused on the difficulties of getting people to accept the official narratives put out by the government these days. Talking from the position of the ruling elite, Kerry noted,
I think the dislike of and anguish over social media is just growing and growing and growing. And it’s part of our problem, particularly in democracies, in terms of building consensus around any issue.
It’s really hard to govern today. You can’t you know, there’s no…referees. We used to have to determine what’s a fact and what isn’t a fact. [That’s] been eviscerated to a certain degree. And people…self-select where they go for their news or for their information, and then you just get into a vicious cycle.
So it’s really, really hard, much harder to build consensus today than at any time in the 45, 50 years I’ve been involved in this. There’s a lot of discussion now about how you curb those entities in order to guarantee that you’re going to have, you know, some accountability and facts, etc.
But look, if people go to only one source and the sauce they go to is sick and has an agenda and they’re putting out disinformation, our First Amendment stands as a major block to the ability to be able to just, you know, hammer it out of existence. [Emphasis added.]
“So what we need is to win the ground, win the right to govern, by hopefully winning enough votes that you’re free to be able to implement change.”
Here’s Kerry’s view of the world. The First Amendment, particularly free speech is outdated and is a danger to national security. People would be better off if there was a “truth arbiter.” Of course, that arbiter would be someone who would be from the government. What were Ronald Reagan’s most terrifying nine words in the English language? “I’m from the government and I’m here to help.”
Tom Woods notes,
…the official narrative about every last major crisis of the past century has been the very model of disinformation.
The Great Depression, we are to believe, was caused by greed, or “underconsumption,” or any number of other non-explanations.
The New Deal, every schoolboy learns, turned things around for America because Franklin Roosevelt had the courage to overturn standard laissez-faire.
The meltdown of 2008 was caused by unspecified “deregulation” or dishonest bankers — with no interest in what might have made bankers turn “dishonest” all at once and only with regard to particular kinds of loans, and certainly without a word about the Federal Reserve System, the chief regulator of all these banks.
And Covid — good heavens, Covid. That official story is that wise public servants tried their darnedest to protect our health, but stupid heads like you and me who are said to hate science stood in the way.
In each case, the regime accepts zero responsibility for anything that happened or anything going wrong in the first place. Instead, it always portrays itself as an innocent bystander, and one that eventually solves the problem at hand.
Many big-name Democrats are on board with Kerry. Hillary Clinton wants the EU to censor Americans using their Digital Services Act. Clinton has also called for the arrest of Americans who spread election disinformation.
Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D.-Mass.) has called for companies like Amazon to use enlightened algorithms to steer readers to “true” books on subjects like climate change to “protect” them from their own “poor” reading choices.
These are the kinds of actions we have to look forward to if the Democrats ever again control of DC. The very existence of the foundations of our country are at stake on November 5th.
