As the dust has settled after this year’s presidential election, we have seen a whirlwind set of announcements regarding who will be working for the people starting on January 20th. This is a far cry from eight years ago. Frankly I think that PDJT might have been a little surprised that he won in 2016. I am certain that PDJT, along with most of us, were naïve about Washington DC. It’s not that we did not know that corruption existed there, it was the sheer extent of such corruption that surprised us.
This time around, many of us have been watching the appointments to see what tactics that PDJT would employ this time around. PDJT is much more knowledgeable about how DC works now. What steps would PDJT take to address and counter the opposition that is surely going to try to neuter any attempt to weaken the stranglehold that the Deep State has on this country?
I am going to venture into one area in this post and that is foreign policy, specifically the ongoing efforts of the Deep State to wage eternal warfare. How would PDJT approach this Gordian Knot?
I believe that something that might be called the Trump Effect is real and in play. People are coming to the realization that Trump is serious about MAGA. There are challenges ahead. America’s place in the world vis a vis BRICS will doubtless prove difficult for Trump, the Middle East as well. To succeed, Trump will need to be flexible—far more so than his rhetoric and appointments would suggest at first glance.
Let’s look the foreign policy side of his appointments. I must admit that I was a little surprised to hear about Rubio for Secretary of State. In my mind Rubio represents the war-mongering side of the neocons who inhabit DC. How would having such a leader for State result in the peace initiatives that I am certain Trump wants?
Even if Rubio tried to direct a peace effort, the CIA operatives inside of State would undoubtedly sabotage such efforts. Then I remembered the Abraham Accords. They were accomplished outside the purview of the State Department. So, I decided to wait and see what else Trump might have up his sleeve for promoting a more peaceful world.
The wait was not long. Trump announced that retired Lt General Keith Kellogg will serve as his special envoy to Ukraine and Russia. This puts General Kellogg at the center of the upcoming negotiated peace deal that will ultimately end the conflict in Ukraine.
Kellogg has long been Trump’s top adviser on defense issues. Kellogg is not a knee-jerk war hawk who thinks the answer to every problem in the world is the use of America’s military. I believe that Kellogg will respect the Russian viewpoint and probably can rattle off 5 to 10 ways the battlefront in Ukraine has changed in the last two years. Hopefully, this will enable Kellogg to be flexible enough to ascertain the path to the conclusion of the bloodshed in Ukraine which includes American blood.
With regard to the MIddle East, PDJT has frequently expressed his disgust with the endless wars and the endless spending that goes along with that. PDJT tapped Steven Witkoff to be Special Envoy to the Middle East. Witkoff is a businessman who is respected by Trump. With the Abraham Accords already in place, I am certain that Witkoff can expand on that initiative to lower the temperature in the Middle East. Part of that effort will be the neutering of Iran as a war mongerer.
With Rubio at State, the position as Chair of the Senate Select committee on Intelligence (SSCI) would come open. Now I am certain that Thune will appoint some RINO to that position. However, this helps to further expose those who are in DC for themselves and not We The People. This also opens up the opportunity for Florida Governor Ron DeSantis to appoint an interim senator who would be more MAGA-minded, trustworthy and loyal.
I am certain that Rubio should sail through the Senate confirmation process. Oh, there might be a few hard questions from some Senators but Rubio is one of them. He will be confirmed and probably quite easily.
The really interesting item here is that Trump is appointing people with real power into “sub-roles.” These include enforcers, czars and advisors. And the foreign policy area is not the only place Trump is doing this. Naming such people into these roles seems like an efficient way to accelerate the change that Trump is looking for. I will delve more into this strategy in the future.
The long winter in America is ending.
