The SAVE Act

Thomas Sowell, a famous American economist and thinker, once said, “Some things are believed because they are demonstrably true.  Bur many other things are believed simply because they have been asserted repeatedly and repetition has been accepted as a substitute for evidence.”

This is where we are in regards to the SAVE Act that is now being debated in Congress.  The Democrats have asserted repeatedly that tens of millions of people will be disenfranchised if the legislation passes.  This has led otherwise rational people to believe this lie without evidence.

Senator Chuck Schumer has been at the forefront of this campaign to hoodwink the American public.  It seems like every time he gets in front of a microphone, he is spouting this lie.  Schumer claims that many Americans lack immediate access to passports or birth certificates, which could prevent them from voting.

What is the truth?  A passport or birth certificate is NOT required to vote.  Such items would only be required when initially registering to vote.  Schumer is deliberately distorting the law in order to rally the cognitively impaired against this common-sense legislation that some 84% of Americans support.

It has gotten so bad with Schumer that he recently claimed that “tens of BILLIONS of people would be disenfranchised.”  Of course, there are not that many people on the whole planet.  This “slip” by Schumer shows just how desperate the Democrats are to stop a piece of legislation that would make it far more difficult to cheat in federal elections.

Schumer went off the deep end this week and stood in the way of the SAVE Act claiming that it represents “Jim Crow” segregation laws.  Schumer said the same thing about a Georgia election integrity law a few years back calling it “Jim Crow 2.0.”  That law resulted in record Black turnout.

The Democrats know a lot about Jim Crow laws since they crafted most of such laws in the years after the Civil War.  This was particularly true in the South where the Democrats clung to power by suppressing the minority vote there.

“Chuck Schumer sounds like a broken record,” Honest Elections Project Executive Director Jason Snead told Fox News Digital.  Snead pointed to a University of Georgia poll after the 2022 election finding that 0% of Black respondents had a poor experience voting.

The debate in Congress is expected to be a long one.  Schumer claims that the Democratic senators are united in opposing a law that would help to ensure free and fair elections.  It may be time to get some popcorn.
