Do the Democrats believe in freedom of the press? On Wednesday night video emerged of the Antifa group Smash Racism DC demonstrating outside the house of FOX News’ Tucker Carlson. In since deleted footage, a mob of Antifa thugs pounded on the door of Tucker Carlson’s house, cracking it. A woman was overheard in one of the deleted videos saying she wanted to “bring a pipe bomb” to his house. They then chanted and spray-painted the anarchy symbol on the driveway.
Now let’s imagine if Trump supporters done something similar outside the house of some well-known left wing reporter. CNN, the NYTimes, etc. would have tried to make it into one of the biggest news stories of the year. They would have bellowed about an “atmosphere of hate,” the threat to press freedom, the threat to democracy, etc., ad nauseum. They would have blamed the President for the attack.
So where are they with this story? With Tucker Carlson as the target, it gets little notice. In particular where is CNN? CNN has been bellyaching about “threats” to the free press because Jim Acosta had his White House access revoked after interrupting PDJT and refusing to yield the microphone, even pushing away (assaulting?) the young intern who tried to retrieve it during Wednesday’s historic press conference.
Back in 2012, when the Daily Caller’s correspondent Neil Munro fired a question at President Obama as he was concluding his remarks, CNN was not upset asking, “Obama interrupted: Disrespectful or latest in ‘era of incivility’?” They characterized it as the “latest in string of disrespectful actions toward the President.”
So why is Antifa given a pass on using real violence to try to silence a media personality CNN does not agree with? It couldn’t be because Antifa is the far left wing of the Democratic Party, could it?
