The Democrats have cancelled the State of the Union address scheduled for January 29th. Technically they dis-invited PDJT.
The reasons given were that the SOTU address is a National Special Security Event. Since there are many Federal employees who have been furloughed, the speaker was concerned about security. Once again Speaker Pelosi has misled the American public. The Secret Service who is responsible for this event is deemed essential services. As such, they are fully staffed despite the partial shutdown. And they have been planning for this event for months long before the shutdown began.
Presidents have been addressing a joint session of Congress on the State of the Union since 1913. Apparently the Democrats are so fearful that PDJT might generate support for building the wall, that they had to prevent him being telecast live into many homes that might not normally pay much attention to politics.
It also is clear that the average American’s security is not the Speaker’s concern since she refuses to provide funding to secure our southern border.
This comes on top of Congressional Democrats refusing to meet regarding border security on Tuesday. Instead the Democrats have decided to lecture Americans on morality whenever they get the chance.
“The President has a proposal on the table that includes additional technology at ports of entry, allows minors from Central America to seek asylum in their home country, and physical barriers between ports of entry made of steel instead of concrete,” said White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders. “Today, the President offered both Democrats and Republicans the chance to meet for lunch at the White House. Unfortunately, no Democrats will attend. The President looks forward to having a working lunch with House Republicans to solve the border crisis and reopen the government.”
The Democrats are fully responsible for the shutdown at this point. They do not care about the Federal workers who have been furloughed. Speaker Pelosi was about to travel out of Washington on Thursday when her access to military transportation was removed by PDJT. If she goes on some DNC billionaire’s jet, it will mean that Federal workers will miss a second paycheck while she is being wined and dined abroad. This would be the second time the Speaker has left Washington during the shutdown. She had previously gone on vacation. Meanwhile PDJT has kept himself available in Washington throughout the holidays and into the new year.
