On Wednesday AG Bill Barr is scheduled to testify before the Senate Judiciary Committee. On Thursday, the House Judiciary Committee has requested his presence. There appears to be some problem with the House request since Chairman Nadler only wants Barr to take questions from the committee staff counsels rather than the committee members. Barr is refusing to do this.
Nadler said,
“If the attorney general is afraid to subject himself to questions where he can follow up, that may indicate lack of confidence in his own position and more to the point, we have to get to the bottom of these issues.”
This brought an immediate rebuke from Rep. Greg Steube, a member of the committee.
“I think Attorney General Barr is very willing to come to Congress and testify and hear from members of Congress. He’s certainly not fearful,”
“Chairman Nadler says he wants to get to the facts. We’ve had 22 months, $25 million of a Mueller investigation, 2800 subpoenas, 500 witness interviews, 500 search warrants. We have plenty of facts and evidence that was in the Mueller report to be able to ascertain if the Trump campaign colluded with Russia. And the answers to that is ‘no.’”
“And the attorney general, with (Deputy Attorney General) Rod Rosenstein, agree not to move forward on obstruction charges. They (Democrats) didn’t get the answer that they wanted from that investigation, so now they feel like they need to do anything and everything they can to try and investigate the president.”
On Tuesday the NYTimes and WaPo released articles that outlined a March 27th letter that was leaked from inside the Mueller operation.
(WaPo) […] “The summary letter the Department sent to Congress and released to the public late in the afternoon of March 24 did not fully capture the context, nature, and substance of this office’s work and conclusions,” Mueller wrote. “There is now public confusion about critical aspects of the results of our investigation. This threatens to undermine a central purpose for which the Department appointed the Special Counsel: to assure full public confidence in the outcome of the investigations.”
The letter made a key request: that Barr release the 448-page report’s introductions and executive summaries, and made some initial suggested redactions for doing so, according to Justice Department officials. (read more)
The timing of this is very suspicious. Sundance over at CTH has a very insightful article that details the highly scripted operation that is going on. This is all part of the continuing operation to get anyone and everyone who supports PDJT and the rule of law. The planning for this began in November 2018 when the Democrats won control of the House. To repeat what has been said before the Democrats never had any intent of trying to govern. This is in line with the Democrats 6th Commandment.
They are now trying to smear Bill Barr in the eyes of the public. They are hoping to weaken Barr’s ability to go after the origins of the coup to overthrow PDJT.
Sundance’s article can be accessed here. It is well worth the time to read it.
