Over the years it has been very unusual to find something that the Democrats wouldn’t spend money on. The Party has universally been big spenders when it comes to using taxpayer money. Faced with a problem, their answer is almost always “spend more money.” Rarely do they ever look to find out the root causes of a problem. They epitomize a most terrifying sentence that was made famous by President Reagan.
“I’m from the government and I’m here to help.”
The recent Democratic “debate” showcased a lot of this approach. In their case, of course, they were just trying to buy votes. Free college needs to be a right. Free health care needs to be a right. A right to a job. Reparations for blacks. Reparations for Native Americans. Reparations for gays. I am sure that reparations for Hispanics is on the mind of one or more of these pretenders to the presidential nomination. A couple of them (O’Rourke, Booker) are now campaigning in Mexico for the presidential nomination.
Until just recently however, the Democrats have not seen it appropriate to try to manage the crisis at the border. PDJT has, for months now, been calling on Congress for money to bring more resources to the detention centers. We’re not talking about weapons and ammo for border patrol agents. We’re talking about beds, food, soap, toothbrushes — everyday items people need to get through the day.
Why no action? Why not protect children from sex trafficking? Apparently, anything that will cast PDJT in a positive light is a net loss for them. If an action will not advance the Democrats’ power, it is not worth doing. The most that the Democrats would do was to stage a photo op where a congress person (AOC) cried into an empty parking lot about the injustice of trying to stop the flow of illegals. Remember, the Democrats need a steady flow of illegals into the country to replenish the voters they are losing to more rational ideas.
Unfortunately, the biggest losers here have been the refugees themselves.
