March For Life

On Friday President Trump will become the first sitting President to attend the annual March For Life rally in Washington in person.

The March for Life is an annual rally peacefully protesting both the practice and legality of abortion.  It is held in Washington, D.C. on or around the anniversary of Roe v. Wade, a landmark decision issued in 1973 by the United States Supreme Court legalizing abortion nationwide. The march’s stated mission is to “End abortion by uniting, educating, and mobilizing pro-life people in the public square.”

In 2019, Trump addressed the crowd via satellite and VP Pence spoke at the event in person. The President said, “We know that every life has meaning and that every life is worth protecting.  I will always defend the first right in our Declaration of Independence: the right to life.”

In 2019 although organizers expected around 100,000 to show up, the reality was that some 200,000 to 300,000 made the trek to Washington.

Legalized abortion is the greatest human rights violation in history. In the US alone tens of millions of children have been killed in the womb since 1973.  The March For Life rally creates a voice for the voiceless.  It is countering the ridiculous notion that a woman has the right to kill her child. The Row v. Wade decision of the Supreme Court was one of its most wrong-headed decisions ever.  It ranks right up there with Plessey v. Ferguson that legalized separate but equal in accommodations for blacks.

President Trump is the most pro-life President in history.  PDJT stands in stark contrast to the culture of death on the Left.  Trump has repeatedly called out the Democratic Party’s extreme position on abortion. During his state of the union address this year, Trump slammed the governors of New York and Virginia for promoting abortion up to birth and infanticide.

PDJT said,

“Lawmakers in New York cheered with delight upon the passage of legislation that would allow a baby to be ripped from the mother’s womb moments before birth. These are living, feeling, beautiful babies who will never get the chance to share their love and dreams with the world.

And then, we had the case of the governor of Virginia where he stated he would execute a baby after birth. To defend the dignity of every person, I am asking Congress to pass legislation to prohibit the late-term abortion of children who can feel pain in the mother’s womb.”

The March For Life rally is the largest protest rally to take place in our nation’s capital although one would not know it from the absence of coverage from the media.

Andrea Widburg at American Thinker notes,

With the evilness and hypocrisy of the Left being exposed more and more, perhaps some time in the near future, all humans, both born and unborn, will be treated with equal respect and dignity.

Thank you, President Trump, for standing up for life.
