In my last post I recounted the horrific story of a 14 year-old Hamilton County, FL boy who was beaten up on a school bus because he was a Trump supporter.
“A 14-year-old boy was hospitalized in November after being beaten by multiple suspects on his ride home from school. He was attacked for voicing his support for President Donald Trump and for wearing a “Make American Great Again” hat. See media reports here and here.
At the hospital older bruises from previous beatings at school were found. It was at this point that the parents found out about the bullying he had been undergoing.”
Please keep this in mind. Medical records document the bruises from previous beatings. How did the school authorities react to this? Rex Mitchell (the Hamilton County School Superintendent) put out a statement calling the boy and his mother liars. He insisted that the violent attacks had nothing to do with the boy’s support for President Trump. He claimed that it was a verbal altercation that got out of hand. In other words the boy brought this attack on himself. He did not address the report of multiple other attacks against the boy.
When this egregious attempt to victimize the victim became known, there was considerable backlash. No longer are conservatives and supporters of the President going to remain quiet when an obvious injustice is being perpetrated. One Hrand Tookman wrote a blog post about it and fired off an email to the superintendent.
To summarize what Hrand Tookman was saying here: Instead of issuing a statement stating the law enforcement was investigating (it was) and that the superintendent was awaiting the results of such investigation (five individuals were charged in the beating of the boy), the superintendent chose to smear the victim and his mother.
What was Tookman’s reward for standing up to this injustice? Tookman is now the subject of a criminal investigation by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE). Sound familiar? A public figure on the Left is criticized and now the critic is assailed by law enforcement. This is the same tactic that has been used by the “woke” Left to silence anyone who disagrees with them, particularly those who have access to a public following.
Tookman has received multiple notices from Google about subpoenas being issued for his email records. FDLE is rooting around through his emails trying to find something, all because he stood up for a 14 year-old boy who happened to be a Trump supporter.
Tookman notes,
It is time for more people to call out and stand up against these egregious abuses of power.
