The Big Lie continues. Again the media is caught presenting as “news” something that is the opposite of what actually took place. Last Thursday AG Bill Barr was interviewed by CBS News’ Catherine Herridge regarding the dropping of the case against LTG Michael Flynn.
On Sunday NBC News’ Chuck Todd aired a piece of that interview on the ‘Meet The Press’ broadcast. In order to make his political points, Todd left out key comments from the interview, remarks that destroy the very argument Todd tried to make against Barr.
At the time the decision was announced, the MSM and Democrats went absolutely bonkers. Critics claimed that it was a political move. There was a rush to call for an investigation into the DOJ’s handling of the case.
Senate Democrats demanded a Justice Department investigation. Sens. Sheldon Whitehouse (D-R.I.) and Richard Blumenthal (D-Conn.) sent a letter to Justice Department Inspector General Michael Horowitz and Jeffrey Ragsdale, the acting director of the Justice Department’s Office of Professional Responsibility, asking for them to “immediately open an investigation” into the decision “as well as the Department’s pattern of politicized decision making.”
“The Department’s decision thus appears to be based solely on President Trump’s clear desire to shield his political allies from responsibility for their actions and to reject the clear reality that his Administration broke the law in its effort to obstruct legitimate investigations into its conduct. If this decision is not investigated, it poses a clear and present threat to the rule of law.”
The talking point about the “threat to the rule of law” is common to most comments from Democrats and their allies in the MSM. It must have been bullet point #1 for Democratic talking points on this subject.
So what did Barr say?
How did Todd present this?
Notice that what was left out was Barr’s statement about upholding the rule of law and undoing an injustice. Todd’s point was that Barr did not do this. This is a flat-out lie. In fact, Barr uses the exact words Todd claims are missing. Barr’s second and third sentence were cut for no reason other than to deceive the viewer.
This is just as bad if not worse than what was done to Nick Sandmann at the Right To Life March a while back. That resulted in CNN settling a lawsuit for a reported $25 million. Other lawsuits are pending. In order to present this clip the way it was presented, someone had to determine exactly where to cut the clip. There is no way to be ignorant of Barr’s additional comments since they immediately followed the part that was used.
This is beyond bad journalism. The question needs to be asked. Are the media co-conspirators in the plot to overthrow the Trump administration? Is it time for the FCC to review the CBS license to broadcast? A license to broadcast is not a license to defame people. It is not a license to intentionally broadcast false information for political purposes.
Greg Price from the Daily Caller tweeted out a video contrasting Todd’s version with the real version of the interview.
Today on Meet The Press, @chucktodd wildly took context out of an answer AG Bill Barr gave about his decision to drop the case into Gen. Michael Flynn.
I cut Todd's segment along with Barr's full answer together. Look at how blatantly dishonest this is. pic.twitter.com/tODOEwL48V

While Meet The Press tweeted a “regret the error” message on Sunday evening, I am definitely not inclined to believe that this was an innocent mistake. The Barr interview occurred on Thursday. Meet The Press was Sunday. There is no way a true journalist would miss something as obvious as this.
As David Marcus over at The Federalist noted,
“Members of the mainstream media get very upset when the president or anyone else calls them fake news. Well, Sunday on the “Meet the Press,” Chuck Todd fully embodied that description.”
I agree David Marcus. I also agree with President Trump. Chick Todd should be fired for making this fake news presentation.
Sleepy Eyes Chuck Todd should be FIRED by “Concast” (NBC) for this fraud. He knew exactly what he was doing. Public Airwaves = Fake News! @AjitPaiFCC @FCC https://t.co/fLTDhjMXo4
