U.S. Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer testified before the House Ways and Means committee and before the Senate Finance Committee on Wednesday. USTR Lighthizer outlined that the administration plans to continue to demand trade reciprocity. This is in keeping with PDJT’s long stated policy of equality in trade relations. Some have characterized this as a zero-zero-zero goal. That is, PDJT believes there should be zero tariffs, zero barriers and zero subsidies.
PDJT believes in the American worker. PDJT believes that American workers can compete with workers anywhere in the world if the playing field is level. To level the playing field has been the goal of his administration since day one

Currently the U.S. does not apply import duties to any product valued under $800. This is a great benefit to China, southeast Asia, and U.S. on-line retailers such as eBay and Amazon. Why? Because these Asian countries do not reciprocate. And that hurts US manufacturers.
Based on what we have seen over the last three plus years, the bought-and-paid-for politicians in Washington will rail against these efforts to level the playing field for the American worker. Those who shriek the loudest are likely to be those who have benefitted the most from the exportation of American jobs out of the county.
I am reminded of what PDJT said in a campaign speech back in October, 2016.
“The Washington establishment, and the financial and media corporations that fund it, exists for only one reason: to protect and enrich itself. For those who control the levers of power in Washington, and for the global special interests they partner with, our campaign represents an existential threat. The establishment has trillions of dollars at stake in this election. The political establishment that is trying everything to stop us, is the same group responsible for our disastrous trade deals, massive illegal immigration, and economic and foreign policies that have bled this country dry.”
This announcement by Lighthizer at this time will probably result in China redoubling their efforts to interfere in the coming election. China’s economy is sagging dangerously. Dangerous because Xi Jinping and his cronies cannot afford to have discontent rising within the common people on the mainland. This may also result in China releasing another virus to cripple our economy.
