This info will not be found in the NYTimes or WaPo. A Zogby Analytics poll published on Wednesday showed that 55% of LIKELY voters believed that Joe Biden is in the early stages of dementia.
Zogby Analytics noted,
“A majority (55%) of likely voters surveyed thought it was more likely (much more and somewhat more likely combined) that Vice President Biden is in the early stages of dementia, while 45% thought it was less likely (much less and somewhat less likely combined). Overall, subgroups who normally approve of Trump’s job as president, were the most likely to believe Biden could be suffering from dementia. Thus, majorities of Republicans (77% more likely/23% less likely) and Independents (56% more likely/44% less likely) thought Joe Biden had early-onset dementia; while nearly a third of Democrats (32% more likely/68% less likely) thought this was the case.”
Perhaps the key numbers in this poll are that 56% of independents and 71% of union workers believe this to a greater or lesser extent. The percentage of union workers staggers belief. Assuming the poll is accurate, there is only one way to overcome this perception and that is to get out in the public arena. However, even in his basement hideout, Biden has proven to be unable to follow even scripted notes from time to time. In at least one case, his wife Jill read the prepared notes.
Reading from scripted notes pales in comparison to having to interact with the public in a town hall type of setting. Biden has been easily angered when confronted with people who do not buy into what he is selling. This is a horrible optic when so many cell phones are recording everything.
Please note this is not a media poll. These poll numbers regarding Biden’s cognitive state should be setting off alarm bells within the DNC elite. This is regardless of what the media polls are saying about the match-up between Biden and PDJT.
I am sure the Democrats will come out with some blather about fake polls. However, it is hard to envision the DNC and/or Jim Clyburn continuing to advance the candidacy of Joe Biden with this reliable poll result.
The public has not really seen him for three months. The stress of campaigning in public will only accelerate the cognitive decline. And he needs to come out into the public and field pressure questions like any President would need to. Of course, if he doesn’t, the media will try to protect him. They will make silly claims like Biden should not be exposed to the possibility of contracting COVID-19.
One comment that I have seen is that, like him or not, Biden never had trouble talking on camera. He may have had more than his share of gaffes, but talking was never an issue. Now he is like a spaceman who has lost his tether and is drifting away from his spacecraft never to return.
As I have said before, this is not funny anymore. This man is supposed to be running for one of the most stressful jobs in the world. However, Biden is unfit to hold any public office. It is exceedingly sad to believe that the Democrats would continue to try to perpetrate this fraud on the country.
This has to up the ante on who will be the VP candidate. The pressure is on to select someone who can take over the job of campaigning for Biden. This person would literally be his proxy.
The Democrats find themselves between a rock and a hard place. If they try to replace Biden at the convention and they pass over Bernie Sanders, the number 2 vote getter, the possibility of Bernie Bros rioting in Milwaukee grows larger. If they pick any other white candidate, there is BLM to contend with. Right now, the Democrats are bowing down to the money being raised for the DNC through the BLM website. And then there is Antifa. This is not an optic that they want.
The next couple of months should be interesting. Time to get some popcorn.
