On Thursday, the House Democrats, every last one of them, made it clear that they are in favor of looting and mayhem.
A resolution introduced by Republican Rep. Greg Steube of Florida went down to defeat on Thursday. The resolution condemned the rioting and looting that followed the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis in May and failed to attract a single Democratic vote in support.
There were a ton of Whereas pieces in the resolution. These talked about all the insane things going on in the country. These ranged from Floyd’s death to looting, destruction of property and murder. Defunding the police was mentioned many times. Such actions would certainly increase the risk of violent crime in those communities. All of this is common sense.
There were nine pieces to the resolution that no rational person should have had any trouble supporting.
The Democrats came down on the side of lawlessness by rejecting the resolution. The Democrats came down on the side of supporting this.
Jim Jordan (R-OH) noted,
“There is a big difference between peaceful protest and rioting. There is a big difference between peaceful protests and violence. There is a big difference between peaceful protest and attacking police officers. And there is certainly a big difference between peaceful protest and forming CHAZ or CHOP or any type of autonomous zone.”
“The resolution strongly opposes what I think is one of the craziest public policy proposals I have ever seen: This idea that we’re going to defund the police.”
Rationality is not a strong suit over on the left side of the aisle these days. Liberal social media users tried to twist the resolution into one that was attacking peaceful protesters. Rational Americans saw through this subterfuge.

This is clearly an attempt by Nancy Pelosi to create a permanent wedge between communities and police. They want chaos, destruction and an economy where only the elite are self-sufficient. This is proof that the Democrats led by Pelosi hate America. Perhaps, they should just take a knee while holding a sign that says “Burn America” like the founder of the Black Lives Matter movement wants.
Joe Saunders notes,
But every one of those Democrats is going to be up for re-election this fall.
And the ones who won election in 2018 by presenting themselves as some kind of responsible alternative to the #Resistance-crazed progressives who flooded the streets in response to Trump’s election in 2016 are going to have to face their own voters as representatives of a party that can’t bring itself to condemn riots.
Every voter who has been awake for the past month, watching rampant looting in the country’s great cities, watching mobs tear down statues of national heroes, and listening to an endless drumbeat of liberal politicians and the mainstream media paint American police officers as some sort of hostile occupation force needs to keep this in mind.
Democrats showed whose side they’re on Thursday. Voters need to remember that in November.
