Most of us have seen the pictures of the white couple in St. Louis who were defending their property from a mob. Photos and videos of them went viral after a Black Lives Matter (BLM) group broke down the gate to the property and were proceeding en masse to flood onto the grounds.
Now, let it be understood that there have been some negative comments about the way the husband and wife were holding their firearms. And there was validity to those comments. The wife in particular had her finger on the trigger when she shouldn’t have. Both of them have the barrels of their weapons pointed towards both the protesters and each another at times. This is certainly in bad form.
Of course, this isn’t what the problem is for people over on the left. The problem is that this couple were ready to defend their lives and property from the mob. By definition, those on the left consider this to be racism. Why? Because these people are white and there were blacks in the mob. According to the left, this couple was taking a stand based on their “white privilege” whatever that phrase may mean this week. And the left cannot permit that.
The Circuit Attorney, one Kim Gardner, is investigating the couple to see if charges can be filed against them. No rioter has been arrested or charged in connection with the destruction of property that occurred.
Let’s put this whole incident in context. We have been told and we have seen that mobs were going to be allowed “space to destroy.” Mobs have been allowed to shoot people, loot, destroy and in general commit mayhem. This has been going on for weeks.
This is why the Second Amendment exists. To repeat an old, well-worn statement that is applicable here. “When seconds count, the police are minutes away.”
On Friday, the couple was tipped off that the mob was coming for them. They were told that this will be a “bloodbath.” They were told that they would be made an example of what happens to people who stand up to protect their lives and property. When they notified the police, the police told them they were on their own. Fortunately for them, they had the wherewithal to hire private security.
What about people who do not have the money to do this? How do they defend their lives and property? What happens when the police are defunded as many cities run by Democrats are proposing? Who will protect the common people?
What is the goal here by the left? Is it to make people afraid to leave their homes? Is it so that they can swoop in in a month or two and say that the only way to “save the country” is to vote for Joe Biden? Are the Democrats tearing the country apart to win an election?
