It keeps getting worse. No Democrat has spoken out against the violence, the looting, the mayhem that has beset many urban centers in America. By their silence the Democrats are promoting violence in cities like Seattle, Portland, New York, etc.
Rioters in Seattle escalated the stakes on Wednesday. The rioters attempted to seal police officers inside of the East Precinct building by using concrete to lock the door before setting fire to the building. Journalist Jason Rantz reported,
“Seattle rioters used a substance suspected to be concrete to seal shut the door to the East Precinct, the Seattle Police Department has confirmed. At the same time, the rioters tried to set fire to the building. ATF is now involved.”
“The criminals at the 12th street entrance reportedly mixed what is suspected to be cement mix and water in a bucket with a wooden stick before applying it to the door. Photos show the criminals also destroyed the electronic key card off the door, presumably to further disable the ability of officers inside to enter or exit the building.”
This is domestic terrorism. This is an ongoing insurrection against America. And the Democrats pretend that none of this is going on. Jerrold Nadler (D-NY), House Judiciary chairman, claims that the ongoing violence “is a myth” perpetrated by Washington.
Seattle Police Officers Guild president Mike Sloan on the ground in Seattle said,
“It’s clear that domestic terrorists are continuing to hold our great city hostage by their criminal acts. We’re talking about a little over 100 people who continue to force their political agenda, to push assaults on officers, destroy private and public property, to continue their dangerous ideology.”
“What’s next has been seen before and I’m fearful that someone will lose their life in the coming days. This could all stop if our public officials would decry and push back against these criminal acts.”
Sloan’s warning about the loss of life comes a bit late. Two people lost their life in Kenosha, WI because there has been no pushback from the authorities. This occurred while BLM was burning down businesses in Kenosha. This violence destroyed much of the black business district in Kenosha.
Paul Poirot in 1962 once wrote,
Tricky phrases with favorable meanings and emotional appeal are being used today to imply a distinction between property rights and human rights.
By implication, there are two sets of rights—one belonging to human beings and the other to property. Since human beings are more important, it is natural for the unwary to react in favor of human rights.
Actually, there is no such distinction between property rights and human rights. The term property has no significance except as it applies to something owned by someone. Property itself has neither rights nor value, except as human interests are involved. There are no rights but human rights, and what are spoken of as property rights are only the human rights of individuals to property.
What are the property rights thus disparaged by being set apart from human rights? They are among the most ancient and basic of human rights, and among the most essential to freedom and progress. They are the privileges of private ownership which give meaning to the right to the product of one’s labor—privileges which men have always regarded instinctively as belonging to them almost as intimately and inseparably as their own bodies. Unless people can feel secure in their ability to retain the fruits of their labor, there is little incentive to save and expand the fund of capital—the tools and equipment for production and for better living.
The Bill of Rights in the United States Constitution recognizes no distinction between property rights and other human rights. The ban against unreasonable search and seizure covers “persons, houses, papers, and effects,” without discrimination. No person may, without due process of law, be deprived of “life, liberty or property”; all are equally inviolable. The right to trial by jury is assured in criminal and civil cases alike. Excessive bail, excessive fines, and cruel and unusual punishments are grouped in a single prohibition. The Founding Fathers realized that a man or woman without property rights—without the right to the product of his own labor—is not a free man.
The Democrats want violence. The Democrats are allowing the destruction of property on a massive scale. This is a basic violation of all human rights. Apparently they think doing this will help them win the election in November.
They need to go down to an historic defeat.
