Less than a year ago, Governor Cuomo was a media superstar with his daily briefings about the COVID situation in New York State.  Today Cuomo’s reputation and standing are rapidly diminishing.  Why?

Less than a year ago, Cuomo’s profile was such that many were talking about Cuomo in presidential tones.  Some even thought he might be drafted to run in 2020 if the Democratic Party primary was unable to settle on a candidate.  Of course, that ended when the DNC decided to rig the primaries for Beijing Biden.  Then there was talk of Cuomo as VP.  That ended when Harris who could not garner even 1% of the vote in the primaries was selected.

Very intelligent friends of mine in the Northeast gushed about the great job he was doing in managing the pandemic in NY.  The media fawned over him every day.  Dr. Fauci, also a media darling at the time, who was wrong more often than Cuomo, held up Cuomo’s New York as a model for treating coronavirus.  Cuomo received an Emmy for his performances. There was a spoof on Saturday Night Live.

All of this took place while serious questions were being raised about his policies regarding nursing homes and other long-term care facilities.  NY had one of the worst per capita mortality rates in the world.  The evidence that Cuomo was “the Butcher of Albany’ was clearly visible from Cuomo’s policy of forcing COVID patients back into these facilities.  The order from the NY State Department of Health was published for all to see.  Thousands of seniors died as a result of these policies.

However, nothing stuck.  Cuomo skated.  Cuomo appeared to be Teflon-coated.  The Emmy and the SNL skit are proof of that.

Late last year all that changed.  Word leaked out of the NY State AG’s office (run by a Democrat) that there appeared to have been a serious “undercount” of COVID deaths particularly in long-term care facilities.  For those who had paid attention to the COVID situation in NY, this did not come as a surprise.  These reports had been out there for a long time.  The undercount appears to be in the neighborhood of 50%.

These news reports even reached CNN.  One talking head opined that Cuomo’s performance may have been “less stellar than it seemed.”

Then came the sexual harrassment charges.  Multiple women (the total is now five) have come forward alleging inappropriate behavior on the part of the Governor.  These events appear to have happened over a period of years.  The media are now running with the story.  The cancel culture has been unleashed.  Remember this is a Democrat they are exposing.  If Cuomo was a Republican, he would have been toast last spring when the nursing home scandal first surfaced.

The question is why is this happening now?  Why is the media suddenly willing to go after a Democratic Governor like Andrew Cuomo who was presented to the public as a saint and a savior just 9 months ago?  Remember again.  These scandals were not started by Republicans (although some of them are taking advantage of the ensuing chaos in NY political circles).

My answer to this question is speculation grounded in the big picture of Democratic politics.  The short answer is Cuomo does not belong to the Obama wing of the Democratic party.  And the Obama wing is a far left, radical, communist wing.  They are engaging in a purge.  This is like the Purge by Joseph Stalin in Russia.

Many traditional leftist Democratic politicians have been wiped out (think victories by AOC, Ilhan Omar, Pressley, etc.).  The radical left, that is, the communists, have emerged as a powerful force in DC.  They control the Democratic majority in the House.  Think about the committee assignments that Pelosi gave to these people as first-time congress critters.  Think about the watering down of the resolution against anti-Semitism early during the last congressional session after Omar had made hateful, anti-Semitic remarks three different times.  The radical left, aka communists, led by former President Obama (and whoever controls him), is trying to own the Democratic Party.  To do so they must eliminate influencers who are not on board lock, stock and barrel with the Marxist ideology.

Cuomo represents someone from the “old dog” Democratic Party.  His rising influence last year is a threat to the radical left.  Democrats who don’t agree with the communists could turn to him as an alternative.  Specifically, he is a threat to Kamala Harris once she is installed as President.  That may occur sooner than even I thought based on Biden’s rapidly declining cognitive abilities.  It is clear now that Biden will never hold an unscripted news conference.

Therefore, Cuomo must be neutralized.  While Cuomo is a bare knuckles brawler of a politician, he is struggling to meet this challenge now that the media have turned on him.

And, of course, other Democrats want to avoid being painted with the same brush as Cuomo when it comes to the pandemic response in NY.  And there are four more Democratic governors who participated in the idiotic approach that Cuomo used regarding long-term care facilities.  This is why the sexual harassment issue has come front and center.  It is to deflect attention away from the disaster of the COVID response in NY, NJ, PA, Michigan and California.

This raises another question. Why did Cuomo and the other four governors do what they did? It was known early on that the most vulnerable people were seniors. Why force COVID into these facilities? Was it done to make PDJT look bad? Escalating deaths allowed the media to paint PDJT as incompetent in his handling of the response when just the opposite was true. Were these governors foot soldiers in a broader effort to take down PDJT? The radical left does not care how many people die if it leads to their successful acquisition of power.

Once your usefulness to the cause has ended, you will be discarded.  The Obama wing know Cuomo cannot be controlled.  They do not care how they neuter Cuomo.  Anything that can be made to stick will do.  While Stalin actually eliminated rivals, in this day and age the Cancel Culture performs the same task.  They hope to scapegoat Cuomo into oblivion.

The question at this point is who will be next?  Newsom in California is also “old dog.”  He is facing the prospect of a recall election.  I do not think they care much about Pelosi one way or the other.  Pelosi is in decline and seems to be slowly acquiescing to everything the Marxists want.  Pelosi may have been a closet communist all these years.

Perhaps the real question is how much pushback will come from the “old dogs.”  The in-fighting could get interesting. And (I couldn’t resist this line) Biden has no “dog” in this fight.  He will do whatever his handlers tell him to do regardless of who they are.

There was this interesting little tidbit recently.  It appears to be an attack on the Clintons.  I wonder who orchestrated this.

I wonder how long it will be before he commits suicide?

Then there was the release of Obama’s derogatory comments on Pete Buttigieg (Buttigieg cannot win the presidency because “he is gay” and “he is short”).  This has the earmarks of a Clinton operation.

How will this all end?  Just watch carefully over the next few months.  My money is on the Obama cartel.  Once they have completed the takeover of the Democratic Party, then the real battle will continue with the people who support PDJT, MAGA and the idea of America.
