The National Geographic, you know that magazine that used to bring us pictures and stories about the wild from around the world, has now come out and implied that fireworks are racist. When will these people stop this nonsense?
The NY Post reported:
National Geographic has suggested that holiday fireworks are racist because the smoke pollution “disproportionately” hurts minorities — sparking a firestorm of criticism from readers.
The famed conservation institution tweeted out the assertion on the Fourth of July, based on a recent study assessing the impact of Independence Day fireworks on communities.
“Scientists found that vulnerable people and communities of color are disproportionately exposed to air pollution from firework celebrations,” the nonprofit wrote on Twitter above a photo of a lights display over North Hollywood, Calif.
The publication based its claims on crowd sourced data that showed that smoke from fireworks tended to be more prevalent in areas with higher concentrations of minorities.
Leslie Eastman over at Legal Insurrection noted:
Claiming that crowdsourced information from the Deep Blue enclave (of California) provides any meaningful analysis is laughable on its face. What this evidence now clearly indicates is that the once-respected publication has devolved into woke-tastic banality.
Twitter users were not amused. Some of the milder comments:
“Honestly, I am a scientist and this is beyond ridiculous,” one person wrote.
Another Twitter user said, “I’m a liberal guy but this stuff is getting ridiculous,”
A third person said, “It never ends with the ridiculous headlines about race. Give it a rest.”
‘What happened to the old Nat Geo, where we talked about animals and how amazing they are?’ another added.
This is just another example of double standards. I guess all the smoke from last year’s arson and looting was acceptable because it was for the advancement of the repressed class.
What will be deemed racist next? Selling fireworks to minorities? Enjoying fireworks displays?
This is all about trying to paint PDJT as a racist. As President, he enjoyed some great Fourth of July fireworks. PDJT enjoyed celebrating the greatness of America. The Left absolutely hates when people do that. It undermines their attempt to take over America for themselves.
Remember. The Left wants to destroy anyone who would celebrate American greatness.
