On Monday, Justin Trudeau displayed that he is a true heir to people like Josef Stalin, Adolf Hitler, Fidel Castro, Mao Tse-tung and Xi Jinping. Demonstrating that Canada is now a police state, the Trudeau administration instructed banks, insurance companies and financial institutions to seize the accounts of any individual, group or business who are associated with political protest.
Using the provisions of the Emergency War Powers Act which certainly does not apply here, PM Trudeau has declared war on his own people. What Trudeau is saying is that one is not allowed to protest against the Canadian government. Sundance notes:
Banks will begin freezing and seizing the account assets of any person, group or organization they may arbitrarily suspect of being aligned with, active with, or supporting the freedom protest. The government has specifically crafted the financial mechanisms so financial institution can use their discretion on who should be targeted. There are no structured rules for the banks to follow.
Additionally, the insurance policies associated with any individual, trucker, group, business or corporation who is identified or suspected of participating in a protest against the Canadian government will be nullified at the discretion of the insurance carrier. Again, civil liability protection provided against recourse from the targeted entity.
Crowdfunding groups will now be required to register with the Canadian government and the regulatory agency the Financial Transactions and Reports Analysis Centre of Canada (FINTRAC), the national financial intelligence agency within the Canadian government. This way all funds raised by individuals or groups can be monitored, blocked and/or seized by the government if the beneficiary of the funding is defined as acting against the interests of the Trudeau administration, or protesting.
The seizures apply to any entity, including opposing political parties, who might dissent from the policy of the Trudeau government. In essence, the Prime Minister’s office can freeze the bank accounts of his political opposition and, using the power within the Emergency Act, Trudeau provides himself immunity from any liability for that action. Yes, this is all rather remarkable and never before fathomed in a “western democracy.”
The question that needs answering is why.
Why are they working so fast and furious to stop assembly and communication? Let’s be reminded that the Canadian elites have created this crisis with their totalitarian approach to the jab. Why is it necessary to brute force censor everyone while destroying the careers and reputations of the dissenters? When and where will Canada’s version of Tiananmen Square take place?
The answer to why is obvious. Assembly provides a forum for spreading information that may oppose the police state. Any police state’s basis in power is the prevention of those who oppose its policies from assembling and communicating. This is what Canadian elites are trying desperately to prevent. The truckers are providing a focal point for all the dissent and disgust with how the political elites have treated regular people. This approach by “western” governments to crush dissent has been occurring all across the globe since the minute this COVID-19 fraud was propagated around the world.
There is a reason the First Amendment is the first amendment in America. It is the most important freedom. The ability to speak freely, to meet with and enjoy the company of anyone and to freely exercise religion undermine the ability of the police state to maintain control over the population.
The foundation of the First Amendment is the concept that people are free to think whatever thoughts they want to think. Again this is a danger to those who would control the public. Free thinkers are less likely to be sheep who will blindly follow whatever they are told.
What are the downstream consequences from this idiocy in Canada? If I have money in a Canadian bank, I would be moving it out of the country. Let’s suppose that 10% of a bank’s customers decide to do this. What effect does this have on the bank’s bottom line. How precarious does a bank’s business position become? Will this crash some banks?
Trudeau is panicking. He has become the laughingstock of people around the world. He is flailing around and lashing out. His approval rating has sunk to 16%. He is desperately trying to hang onto power. The police chief of Ottawa has resigned. This further underscores Trudeau’s lack of support. Trudeau may yet get the streets of Ottawa cleared but at what cost?
Let’s remember that all of this by Trudeau is over a virus that is little different from the common cold.
UPDATE: It appears that Quebec has rejected Trudeau’s bid to use the Emergency Measures Act to further alienate the people of Canada from its government.
Quebec’s National Assembly unanimously adopted a motion Tuesday calling on the Canadian government not to apply the Emergencies Act on Quebec territory.
The motion was presented in the Salon Bleu by Québec Solidaire (QS) parliamentary leader Gabriel Nadeau-Dubois. It was adopted unanimously without debate.
Nadeau-Dubois explained in a news briefing that he was concerned about the situation in Ontario and around certain border crossings, but that currently, in Quebec, there was no justification for applying the Emergencies Act.
