Mar-a-Lago Background, Part 1

There is every reason to question the motives behind this raid.  This is especially true when you consider the lack of attention to Hillary’s email server, the Carter Page warrants, the Russian “collusion” hoax, the utterly damning evidence on Hunter Biden’s laptop that still has not been properly pursued by investigators, and on and on.

This raid on a former President’s home is unprecedented and has all the markings of a total abuse of political power. It looks like Deep State malfeasance at its best and a complete descent into totalitarianism at its worst.  Every American ought to be alarmed and outraged over this.

This will be an attempt to outline the story behind how we have gotten to where we are today in this country.  And, to be clear, that story is the fact that the DOJ and the FBI are now weapons being used by the administration in power to target political opposition.

Just what documents is PDJT holding that the elite players in DC are so desperate to get their hands on?  Specifically, what was President Trump asking the Office of Director of National Intelligence (ODNI), Dept of Justice and FBI to release for the past four years?  What is in those documents that has created the desperation that is evidenced by this raid?

To fully appreciate what is going on, we need to take a walk through the last two decades and what has transpired regarding the government attempting to suppress individual liberties.

9/11 was a triggering event that led to the passage of the Patriot Act.  Notice that I did not say that the Patriot Act (what a misnomer that is) was created as an outgrowth of 9/11.  The legislation was probably sitting on somebody’s shelf waiting for the necessary crisis.  When 9/11 happened, the legislation was dusted off, updated to reflect current sensibilities and ushered into Congress for passage.

The problem it was supposed to solve was the so-called impenetrable wall between the DOJ/FBI and the CIA, etc.  Supposedly this led to the intelligence failures that permitted 9/11 to happen.  Of course, this wall was supposedly there in 1996 when TWA 800 was shot down off the South Shore of Long Island on July 17^th.  The wall did not stop the CIA from getting involved with a cartoonish recreation of the event that defied the laws of physics.  Of course, the real reason they got involved was to help keep Bill Clinton in the White House.  The fact that they got away with it, probably encouraged more wanton lawlessness later on.

The Patriot Act weaponized the DOJ and FBI against Americans.  In the era shortly after 9/11 the DC national security apparatus, instructed by Vice President Dick Cheney (thank God the Cheney dynasty is over), was constructed.  The mission was to preserve continuity of government and simultaneously view all Americans as potential threats. The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and the ODNI were created specifically for this purpose.  That is when all of our electronic ‘metadata’ came under federal surveillance.

There were supposed to be safeguards to prevent violations of the Bill of Rights.  In practice, the FISA Court, a secret court, was little more than a rubber stamp for whatever the government wanted to do.

The problems we face now as a country are directly an outcome of two very distinct points that were merged by Barack Obama. (1) The post 9/11 monitoring of electronic communication of American citizens; and (2) Obama’s team creating a fine-tuning knob that it focused on the politics of the targets.  This is very important to understand as you dig deeper into this research outline.

The preexisting Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and Dept of Justice (DOJ) were then repurposed to become two of the four pillars of the domestic national security apparatus: a domestic surveillance state. However, this new construct would have a targeting mechanism based on political ideology.

The DHS, ODNI, DOJ and FBI became the four pillars of this new institution. Atop these pillars is where you will find the Fourth Branch of Government.

As you will come to realize as we get deeper into this walk through history, this fourth branch of the government, the intelligence community (IC), is accountable to no one.  And Senator Chuck Schumer (D-NY) is the one who spilled the beans when he said, “Let me tell you: You take on the intelligence community — they have six ways from Sunday at getting back at you.”

Let that sink in.  Schumer, one of the most powerful politicians in the country, has a consummate fear of the IC.  And let’s remember that the government constructed a data center in Utah to store all this information that they gather.  Unofficial reports indicate that it has enough storage capacity for 100-years-worth of data.

The Intelligence Branch is an independent functioning branch of government, it is no longer a subsidiary set of agencies within the Executive Branch as most would think. To understand the Intelligence Branch, we need to drop the elementary school civics class lessons about three coequal branches of government and replace that outlook with the modern system that created itself.

The Intelligence Branch functions much like the State Dept, through a unique set of public-private partnerships that support it. Big Tech industry collaboration with intelligence operatives is part of that functioning, almost like an NGO. However, the process is much more important than most think. In this problematic perspective of a corrupt system of government, the process is the flaw – not the outcome.

Now think about the uproar over the possible purchase of Twitter by Elon Musk.  Such a purchase would have undoubtedly led to sunlight shining on some things that the IC would rather keep in the dark.  There are experts who have said that Twitter cannot be profitable without a significant subsidy from our government and other governments from around the world.  When Musk announced his intentions, did you notice that, all of a sudden, some of Musk’s other businesses came under regulatory scrutiny?  Was this a message that said to back off?

How does all of this come together and affect PDJT?  When it became clear that PDJT would become the Republican nominee in 2016, the NSA database was being scoured by “contractors” for any data that might be useful in the upcoming election campaign.  In April of 2016, the FBI launched a counterintelligence operation against Trump the candidate.  No notice was given to Congressional leadership (the Gang of Eight) at their quarterly briefings.  Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-NY) questioned James Comey about this in March, 2017.

Some notes from Sundance:

♦ Notice how FBI Director James Comey just matter-of-factly explains no one outside the DOJ was informed about the FBI operation. Why? Because that’s just the way things are done. His justification for unilateral operations was “because of the sensitivity of the matter“, totally ignoring any constitutional or regulatory framework for oversight; because, well, quite simply, there isn’t any. The intelligence apparatus inside the DOJ/FBI can, and does, operate based on their own independent determinations of authority.

♦ Notice how Comey obfuscates notification to the Director of National Intelligence (DNI), by avoiding the fact James Clapper was the DNI from outset of the counterintelligence operation throughout the remainder of Obama’s term. When I get deeper into the process, we will understand how the Intelligence Branch has intentionally used the creation of the DNI position (established post 9/11/01) as a method to avoid oversight, not enhance it. Keeping an oblivious doofus like James Clapper in position held strategic value.

Comey sidestepped the question about notifying the DNI.  Remember the DNI position was created to facilitate the exchange of information between different government agencies.  In practice that has not been the case.  This was especially true while Clapper was DNI.  And Clapper was DNI when Crossfire Hurricane was being run.  What did he know and when did he know it?  I doubt that they allowed very much info on Crossfire Hurricane to go his way.

Let’s remember that after PDJT determined that Coats, recommended by VP Pence, was not a good fit for his administration as DNI, he wanted John Ratcliffe.  Ratcliffe was competent and capable.  The IC could not allow the sunlight that Ratcliffe would bring to the position and so PDJT was told by Mitch McConnell that Ratcliffe could not be confirmed.  This was the IC telling the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence (SSCI) to block Ratcliffe.  The SSCI acceded to this “request” because as Schumer said, “…they have six ways from Sunday at getting back at you.”  Ratcliffe’s initial nomination was withdrawn.

As Sundance notes:

The DNI office became the tool to take massive amounts of data and use it to target specific Americans.  Weaponizing the DNI office for political targeting is now the purpose of the DNI office as it exists.

The illegal and unlawful nature of the surveillance creates a need for careful protection amid the group who operate in the shadows of electronic information and domestic surveillance.

How was this protection put into place?  The first step was to not produce a budget in 2008.  This was intentional.  Pelosi, House Speaker, and Harry Reid, Senate Majority leader, wanted an open checkbook.  The financial crisis made this even more attractive.  I wonder how many millions of dollars were earned by Congress critters due to this dereliction of duty?

Since 2008, there has not been a budget produced in the traditional process.  What has happened are continuing resolutions and various Porkulous spending bills passed by Congress that trash the whole idea that we need to spend within our means.  Budget is a dirty word in Washington.

Obama told the country that he was going to radically transform the country.  Most of us thought Obamacare was that. What was hidden by the fight over Obamacare was the transformation going on inside the executive branch.  This included a massive increase in spending for the intelligence apparatus in this country.

Sundance notes:

The people behind Obama, those same people now behind Joe Biden, knew from years of strategic planning that ‘radical transformation’ would require control over specific elements inside the U.S. government. Eric Holder played a key role in his position as U.S. Attorney General in the DOJ.

AG Holder recruited ideologically aligned political operatives who were aware of the larger institutional objectives. One of those objectives was weaponizing the DOJ-National Security Division (DOJ-NSD) a division inside the DOJ that had no inspector general oversight. For most people the DOJ-NSD weaponization surfaced with a hindsight awakening of the DOJ-NSD targeting candidate Donald Trump many years later. However, by then the Holder crew had executed almost eight full years of background work.

PDJT recognized the problem that the country had.  However, until he was well within his term as President, he had no idea just how extensive the problem within the government had become.  The takeover of the government by unelected, Marxist ideological travelers, was almost complete when PDJT entered office.

The second larger Obama/Holder objective was control over the FBI. Why was that important? Because the FBI does the domestic investigative work on anyone who needs or holds a security clearance. The removal of security clearances could be used as a filter to further build the internal ideological army they were assembling.  Additionally, with new power in the ODNI created as a downstream consequence of the Patriot Act, new protocols for U.S. security clearances were easy to justify.

Carefully selecting fellow ideological travelers was facilitated by this filtration within the security clearance process.  How does that issue later manifest?  Just look around at how politicized every intelligence agency has become, specifically including the FBI.

There are those who suggest that the problem is at the top of the department (FBI, DOJ, etc.).  This is hogwash.  These people had too much time to recruit and put people in place who do not believe in America.  The disdain these people have for ordinary Americans seeps out every once in a while.  Most of us remember Peter Strzok’s text message…’Just went to a Southern Virginia Walmart. I could smell the Trump support.’

The corruption has spread throughout these agencies.  Of course, they also needed propaganda support.  That led to recruiting Big Tech to help control the outcome of political objectives.  Sundance opines that the coordinated political outcomes in Libya and Egypt during the so-called Arab Spring are an excellent example of the merging of Big Tech (especially Facebook and Twitter) with political objectives desired by the Obama administration.

Without a doubt this led to the censoring of political viewpoints in 2020 that did not align the Demo-Communist world view.  Facebook has recently announced that they will be vigilant to see that misinformation is not allowed on their platform during the runup to the 2022 mid-terms. What this really means is that Facebook will once again censor conservative voices and the voices of those people who love America.

Thinking the unthinkable.

The United States Senate was responsible for intentionally allowing most of this to take place.  The SSCI built the intelligence apparatus we now see functioning in America.

Every member of the SSCI is compromised in some controlling manner. Those Senators who disliked the control over them; specifically disliked because the risk of sunlight was tenuous and, well, possible; have either left completely or stepped down from the committee. None of the SSCI members past or present would ever contemplate saying openly what their tenure involved.

All of President Obama’s 2009 intelligence appointments required confirmation from the Senate. The nominees had to first pass through the Democrat controlled SSCI, and then to a full Senate vote where Democrats held a 60-vote majority. Essentially, Obama got everyone he wanted in place easily. Rahm Emmanuel was Obama’s Chief of Staff, and Valerie Jarrett was Senior Advisor.

This is not to say that these people did not make mistakes.  Lois Lerner’s successful effort to suppress conservative PACs via the IRS was one such mistake.  However, they learned from their mistakes and reduced the exposure of their illicit activities to fewer well-traveled ideologues inside the intelligence community.

The tools the government previously used to monitor international threats are now being used to monitor every American.  WE THE PEOPLE are now the threat the national security system is monitoring.  The old Soviet Union’s KGB and East Germany’s Stasi would have loved to have the power that the unaccountable Intelligence Branch has in this country.

Perhaps there is no better example of this than the attempt by Merrick Garland’s DOJ to criminalize parents attending school board meetings to protest things like CRT.  No school should be teaching kids that the color of your skin identifies you as an oppressor or an oppressed.  The fact that Garland would okay such an approach by the FBI demonstrates that he is another useful idiot like James Clapper was when he was DNI director.  And to think that Obama nominated Garland for the Supreme Court!
