Of course, the media and government spokespersons are telling us the truth about the situation in Ukraine. The heroic Ukrainian defenders are about to repel the heathens from Russia who know nothing about waging war. Really?
The anticipated Russian Spring offensive has already begun and once again Ukrainian units are moving backwards and being destroyed. This is a war of attrition and Russia is clearly winning. Ukraine is losing 10 soldiers for every one soldier Russia loses.
Most western commentators have been expecting a “shock and awe” approach by Russia. That’s not happening. What is happening are multiple probing attacks by Russia at different points along the front. When Ukrainian units are moved to shore up the defensive line, artillery takes over. Massive shelling follows. No trickle of guns, tanks, etc. from western countries is going to stop this. Ukraine does not have the resources, either human or material, to continue to defend against this.

Via Doug MacGregor here is a summary of reports from the Russian side of the line.
In the Soledar sector, assault detachments of the Wagner PMC are attacking the positions of the 10th Airborne Forces of Ukraine on the outskirts of Razdolovka , and are also moving westward from the village of Sakko and Vanzetti to Vasyukovka .
Clashes continue in the vicinity of Krasnaya Gora and Paraskovievka . The enemy suffers significant losses: the Ukrainian command withdrew in the direction of Slavyansk separate units of the 46th detachment of the DShV and 147th about 116th TRO from Krasnaya Gora .
In Bakhmut , the “Wagnerites” entered the Stupka area in the north of the city. Fierce battles are going on in urban areas. Statements about a breakthrough in the defense of the Armed Forces of Ukraine are not true – Ukrainian formations continue to resist.
At the same time, the partial withdrawal of units from the northern suburbs of Bakhmut and the departure of 63 mechanized brigades from the city yesterday indicate preparations for a possible surrender of the garrison. Now the Armed Forces of Ukraine are concentrating their efforts on holding the route to Chasy Yar in order to preserve the logistics hub.
The command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is transferring manpower and armored vehicles from Konstantinovka to the vicinity of Chasov Yar . At the same time, additional defensive lines are being prepared in Konstantinovka itself.
Russian artillery is conducting a massive shelling of the areas where enemy reinforcements are concentrated on the Konstantinovka -Chasov Yar – Bakhmut highway.
The announced expansion of western military aid is not weakening Russia’s commitment to this operation. In fact, it appears that Russia is getting even more determined to finish this exercise on their own terms. The references to Hitler and the Nazis in this speech make that clear.
Let’s remember that this war was instigated by western powers over an extended period of time. The Obama administration executed a coup in Ukraine when they determined that the duly-elected Ukrainian President was a bit too chummy with Russia.
The Davos crowd that exercises such influence over western governments needed to take Russian nationalism out of the equation where it came to global governance. Therefore, they pushed and pushed to try to emasculate Russian military strength by encircling Russia with “NATO” nations. They also refused to abide by the Minsk agreement. This was just another in a long line of broken promises made to Russia over the decades.
The atrocities committed by the Azov neo-Nazi forces in eastern Ukraine were the proverbial last straw. More than 14,000 ethnic Russians were executed, most only because they spoke Russian. Tens of thousands more were tortured including women and children.
The narrative in Washington is changing. We are beginning to see statements like the war will be over by June. Just when are those Abrams tanks supposed to arrive in Ukraine? Not before the fall by most estimates.
The administration is looking for some way to save face. They want to be able to put some kind of positive spin on the surrender of Ukraine. However, this time the hostilities will end on Russia’s terms whatever they may be.
Ukraine will lose all of its military. Much of its infrastructure will be reduced to rubble. And it will lose more land. All of this will be the result of the Davos crowd wanting world domination. War crimes trials would be appropriate for this crowd.
How will this end? Hopefully, someone in the administration can convince the powers behind the curtain to end this hopeless mess. Unfortunately, there are so many other horrific problems that have been created since Biden’s administration moved into the Oval Office. This war may become the shiny object used to distract the public from some of the other problems.
Is the end coming sooner than we think? Ukrainian Minister Andriy Melnyk has demanded that Germany give Ukraine a submarine. Supposedly it is to fight the entire Russian Navy in the Black Sea. Perhaps instead, this sub would be used to spirit Zelenskyy and his entourage away from Ukraine? And what Ukrainian minister was in the gallery for Biden’s State of the Union fabrications?
