Chernobyl 2.0

One of the fear porn stories coming out of the Russia-Ukraine conflict in June was that the Russians were planning to blow up the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant (ZNPP).  Zelensky claimed that explosives were in place and that the Russians were ready to do this.

This narrative appears to be another in a long line of propaganda efforts to swing world opinion and American public opinion in favor of the Ukrainian dictator.  Getting sufficient public support via a storyline that the Russians were causing a nuclear catastrophe would allow the neocons to escalate the war further.

It did not work.  Clandestine has a Twitter post that outlines very well what happened.

Let’s note a few items here.  First, is the apparent effort of our intelligence services to see if their false flag narrative was being accepted by the public.  I think the Ronald Reagan’s “trust but verify” statement should be modified when it comes to statements coming from our government.  It should be “Trust only when verified.”

Second, while blowing up the ZNPP would not be a good thing, there is no chance of another Chernobyl unless someone deliberately sabotaged the reactor vessels to cause a massive explosion from within the reactor core. That is what happened at Chernobyl.  The fuel rods at ZNPP have been withdrawn so that is very unlikely.

Third, citizen journalists are making a difference.  Places like Twitter and Substack are helping with the flow of uncensored information.  The stranglehold that Big Media had on the news is ending.  Individuals are making a difference in spreading the truth.
