Ralph Norman (R-SC-5), a member of the US House of Representatives, is one of the 15 House members that are trying to help to make the government more accountable to the people. Norman, along with 14 other Republican “rebels” forced changes in the procedures governing how the House operates. Hopefully this will move us away from the era of omnibus bills that are thousands of pages long that no one can adequately review before such behemoths come up for a vote.
This is the method the elite politicians use to push through legislation through that winds up lining the pockets of the legislators’ families.
Norman posted a comment about the Protection of Women & Girls In Sports Act. The fact that we even need such a law shows just how far removed from reality leftist politicians are.
I just voted for the Protection of Women & Girls in Sports Act. It passed without so much as one Democrat vote.
Biological women & girls deserve a level playing field, don’t they? How is it fair when biological women are forced to compete against biological men?
For transgender women, hormone replacement simply CANNOT reverse many of the athletic characteristics of the biological male body, especially after puberty. This includes skeletal size, lung volume, cardiovascular capacity, tendon strength, muscle power, and hand & feet size, just to name a few. That’s not my opinion; it is the widely reported medical assessment of numerous experts.
Let’s think about this. Not one Democrat in the House voted to protect the rights of women and girls. That is appalling.
Sports changes lives. Title IX is about providing the same opportunities to women and girls to compete in sports as is available to males without having to contend with the biological advantages that are inherent in male bodies.
This vote shows that the Democrats were never for equal rights for women. The only reason they voted for such laws in the past was to buy votes.
The same was true for voting rights and civil rights. A much higher percentage of Republicans voted to the Civil Rights Act of 1964 than did Democrats. In fact, in the Senate a group pf Democrats filibustered the bill for 57 days before agreeing to end the standoff. I wonder how they were bought off?
And the Voting Rights Act of 1957 saw almost a majority of House Democrats vote AGAINST voting rights for blacks. This was compared to the 84% of Republicans for voted for the bill.
However, with the help of the media the Democrats have managed to paint the Republicans as those who stand in the way of progress for blacks when just the opposite is true.
Norman goes on:
Friends, nobody’s advocating for the mistreatment of transgender individuals!! But where’s the compassion for the overwhelming majority of female athletes who are… you know… biologically female?
Where’s the compassion for women who are displaced from the victory stand because they don’t possess the athletic characteristics of a biological male?
Where’s the compassion for female athletes who lose scholarship slots because a biological male has taken that slot as a transgender woman?
Where’s the compassion for women who hold athletic records that have (or will soon be) broken by a biological male competing as a transgender woman?
Where indeed!
