Conspiracy theories are just that…theories. Until they are proven to be facts. There have been an awful lot of “conspiracy theories” declared as such by the Left that have been shown to be true in the last few years.
There were the “theories” that PDJT was being wiretapped during the 2016 election campaign. Subsequently tons of evidence surfaced that the FBI and the DOJ were engaging in just that activity. FISA warrants existed surveilling more than one person in the campaign circle around PDJT. All of this was done under the umbrella of “national security.” Hmm.
Another example involved the “horse paste” Ivermectin which was supposedly not for human consumption. Even the CDC mocked people who took Ivermectin. Subsequently we learned Ivermectin had at least a five-decade record for human consumption with a stellar safety record and was used routinely in African countries. So why block its use for COVID? Hmm.
A recent disaster is now sprouting “conspiracy theories” like new blades of grass after a warm spring rain. Which of these will turn out to be true? The Maui wildfire disaster has prompted Maui residents who survived the fire to question the reasoning behind decisions made that resulted in the absolute destruction of much of Lahaina at the cost of so many lives.
Many of these theories revolve around money and power and who might benefit from this disaster. I will not delve into them except to point out some of the “human errors” that contributed to this.
Why was water denied to the firefighters and the residents by Hawaii Department of Land and Natural Resources (DLNR) deputy director M. Kaleo Manuel? This is a fact. The motivation is unclear. Hmm.
Why was the only road out of Lahaina blockaded by the police? According to reports there were downed wires on the road. According to verified reports, Hawaiian Electric’s power lines on the western side of Maui had been de-energized for some six hours when the Afternoon Fire broke out. How many people burned to death because they could not get out of the city? Hmm.
Hawaiian Electric is being sued because it is alleged that their failure to harden their infrastructure was the cause of the fire. This may turn out to be true. However, the Morning Fire was contained at 9 AM according to the Maui Fire Department (MFD). It was completely extinguished shortly afterward. There was no power to the downed lines when the Afternoon Fire broke out. The fire was reported by linemen working on downed power lines. Hmm.
Who mandated that Hawaiian Electric devote significant company resources to “green energy” initiatives? Any company only has so much capital to spend. How did this mandate contribute to the disaster? Hmm.
All of this is source material for people who are victims of the fire. The question always has to be who would benefit? Twenty years ago many of us would have dismissed these theories out of hand. Today with all the corruption that exists among our elites, almost anything, however evil, seems to be possible. We will have to watch to see which theories pan out.
