The following is repeated elsewhere in other venues. However, it seems appropriate to repeat here as we kick off the Iowa portion of the Great Awakening. Arising from a winter blizzard (Not quite Valley Forge, but we are just getting started):
Battered Conservatives No More – By Sundance
- We admit we were unaware of our Republican abusers – Our elections have become manipulated.
- We accept that only a power greater than ourselves can restore our republic.
- We make a decision to focus our effort and our life to the care of a loving God.
- We have made a searching and fearless inventory of our prior beliefs.
- We have admitted to God, to ourselves, and to another human, being flawed in our political belief.
- We are entirely ready to have God free us from defects of character, break our victim mindset and strengthen our resolve.
- We humbly asked Him to remove our false assumptions.
- We have made a list of all political abusers, and we commit to holding them all accountable.
- We accept the need to confront the republican abusers, if even when doing so hurts their feelings.
- We continue to take personal inventory and if we accept victimization again, we promptly admit it.
- We seek through prayer and deliberation to improve our conscious contact with God, praying only for righteous knowledge of His will for us and the power to carry that out.
- Having had an emotional, intellectual and spiritual awakening as the result of these steps, we pledge to carry this message to others who are abused, and to practice these principles of awakening in all our political affairs.
I repeat the Twelve traditions because they are similar to the principles of a family, church congregation. After John the Baptist preached about Jesus he said, “He must become Greater, I must become less”. Paul said, “Follow me as I follow Christ”. Humility (an accurate assessment of ones self) is the first stage of development — whether as a newborn child, a new Christian recognizing their need for Savior, a broken sinner crawling into 12 step meetings, a battered wife, whose disordered priorities allowed her to be abused to the point of death.
Jesus prayed in the Garden that “they [we] may be one, as He and the Father are one”. In order to keep God first in this country, we must be focused on allowing every individual to reach their full God given potential.
Whether we deport immigrants or assimilate them, our people must be united to keep a God centered country focused on maximizing the individual in God, not making mega companies, mega stars, mega politicians, or other idols to worship.
United in guerilla style loving, serving fellowship, armed with Truth and the Spirit of God, we can become the greatest force in the world
