The mess at the border is getting a lot of attention these days. More and more Democrats are abandoning the administration’s talking points as their friends and neighbors point out the obvious problems that an open border is bringing.
Governor Abbott has declared an invasion and is mobilizing to defend out southern border in Texas. President Trump is messaging support for the State of Texas through his Truth Social account.
Sending out a series of unambiguous statements, President Trump has recommended that all Republican states rally support for Texas and deploy their national guard troops if needed to aid the Lone Star State.
Now before PDJT weighed in, David Harsanyi over at the Federalist noted:
A talking point cropping up on social media and press contends that Texas Governor Greg Abbott is “ignoring” or “defying” the Supreme Court by continuing to erect fencing along the U.S.-Mexican border. This is wrong.
Abbott can’t ignore the Supreme Court because Texas wasn’t ordered to do anything. SCOTUS vacated an order against the Department of Homeland Security [sic] that stopped the Feds from cutting down razor fencing along the border. Nothing says that Texas can’t erect the fencing.
So, DHS can cut the wire and Texas can put up more wire. Of course, the media and any Democrat interviewed (except maybe John Fetterman) will claim that a constitutional crisis is at hand. They will try to create a crescendo of noise about the “defiance” of Governor Abbott. Some will probably go so far as to call for the Governor’s arrest or impeachment.
I am certain that it will not be long before the Left calls what Texas is doing “racist.” While most Americans see legal immigration as a net positive, the lawlessness at the border and its spread to many of our major cities is undermining that sentiment.
Another question I see is how long will it be before the Communists Democrats call what Abbott is doing an insurrection? And, of course, once they do that, they will be calling for more indictments of PDJT for supporting an insurrection. Jack Smith and his cronies may be getting busy again looking at how to twist some law to allow this.
We must counter such attempts by stating the facts. The Supreme Court lifted an injunction against the Border Patrol from cutting wire…nothing else while the case works its way through the courts. Texas is not enjoined from putting up wire to stop this illegal invasion.
I think a slogan used elsewhere might be appropriate here. The RIGHT TO CHOOSE is a slogan we have all heard over and over. Of course, the slogan is never completed. It is the RIGHT TO CHOOSE…TO KILL BABIES.
We should grab this slogan and use it for our approach to the invasion of our border. We have the RIGHT TO CHOOSE…to defend our borders.
