The Colorado insurrection will likely be quashed by the Supreme Court. It is always risky to make predictions based on the oral arguments presented. However, it seems likely that SCOTUS will end the insurrection by the Colorado Supreme Court by reversing their ruling removing PDJT from the ballot.
Leftists are already having meltdowns as the usually reliable leftist votes (the three ladies appointed by Democratic Presidents) seem inclined to agree that the Colorado court overstepped its bounds.
SCOTUS will overturn probably on very narrow grounds. This is typical for the Court. In this case they will not want to wade into the political arena at all. I expect that the vote will be 8-1 although a unanimous ruling is possible.
My guess on the reasoning will be that Section 3 is not self-executing. Congress provides the remedy, and there is a congressional insurrection act under which Trump has not even been charged. I think the court will ignore whether or not Trump has been charged but will just stick to the non-self-executing reasoning. In my opinion this gives the highest possibility of a unanimous ruling. I think that all of the justices could get behind that reasoning. Keep in mind that the most skeptical questions came from the left side of the court.
If this is the path that the Court takes, this will also obliterate the idiotic decision made by the Maine Secretary of State who somehow thought she could convict Trump of insurrection without a trial. I am not familiar with other cases still pending. However, again, if this is the path the court takes, that will probably end those cases as well.
These attempts to disqualify Trump from the ballot are just another example of lawfare from the left side of the aisle. I was there on January 6th. The Democrats are trying to create a false history of the day. There was no insurrection on January 6th. No one tried to enter the Capitol until after the Capitol Police fired flash bangs, tear gas and rubber bullets into a noisy yet peaceful crowd. Even after this, most of those who entered the building did so in an orderly manner staying inside the ropes and following police instructions.
It is time to begin to put all of this insurrection nonsense to bed. Let’s get down to the real issues facing this country like the invasion across our southern border orchestrated by the current administration.
