The Special Counsel Hur’s report on Biden is devastating.  Biden is described as a well-meaning, elderly man with memory issues.  Because of this , the Special Counsel did not charge Biden with felonies for intentionally mishandling (actually stealing) classified documents.  The White House’s attempt at damage control appears to be creating more damage.

In the disastrous press conference, CNN correspondent MJ Lee reminded Biden that he had urged Americans to “watch me” when he was confronted over his age: “Many [of the] American people have been watching, and they have expressed concerns about your age.”

That was the President’s testy response to a reporter asking about the judgement of the Special Counsel.  Notice that Biden states that the reporter’s expressed concern is not the “judgement of the press.”  This seems to indicate that there is an expectation that the press will not disagree with what the White House says.

A few more highlights:

Eventually Big Media came to the president’s defense.  Some attacked the Special Counsel’s report that detailed the President’s mental infirmities.  The President and his staff put out what were clearly false statements.

Mike Shedlock notes:

President Biden, for example, stated that the Special Counsel report found that he did not willfully retain material. It found the opposite . . . repeatedly.

He stated that he did not disclose classified material to his ghostwriter. Special Counsel Hur found precisely the opposite.

Biden stated that the material was not highly classified with “that red stuff…around the corners.” In fact, Hur found that the material was “highly sensitive,” including an Afghanistan-related memo from the National Security Adviser to President Barack Obama in 2009 marked “TOP SECRET/SCI” (Sensitive Compartmented Information).

Biden stated that all of the material was kept in locked or lockable filing cabinets. That was a lie. As the pictures vividly demonstrated, Hur found material in unlocked areas and virtually spilling out of torn boxes in his garage.

There is a battle going on here.  It is not between Republicans and Democrats.  It is within the Democratic Party.  Biden, his wife and others near to him do not want to fade quietly into the sunset.  The original plan was for Biden to be a one term President.  Any negative outcomes would be his to carry while a new candidate went after the golden ring.

Of course, the negative outcomes have been a bit larger than anticipated.  Inflation has not been this high since the Carter administration.  The rise in crime due to the open borders policy is hitting Democratic strongholds more than anywhere else.  The fentanyl epidemic is coming home to many Americans.  These are direct consequences of the border policy.  More inflation is coming.  The halt in new drilling sites for oil and natural gas will have a bigger effect this year due to the playing out of existing leases.  Cost push inflation will also be felt.

Perhaps the biggest negative is one that is only now starting to seep into the public consciousness.  Biden’s vaccine mandates have led to the deaths of 600,000+ Americans.  Wait until that hits the public square.

Biden is shot.  The real question is who will replace him on the Democratic ticket and how will they accomplish that.
