Odds & Ends

During a recent appearance on the FOX Business Network, Biden Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen said that she regrets her previous claim that inflation was transitory.  Yellen said, “Most forecasters believe we’re on a path where inflation will come down over time.”  Just who are these forecasters?

Any economist worth his salt would tell you that inflation is going to head upward.  Yellen wanted to say that housing costs flattening will stop inflation.  Hogwash!  The cost of oil products (gasoline, diesel, etc.) are headed up again.  Unleaded regular gasoline has risen over ten percent during the last three months.

Biden has pretty much drained the strategic petroleum reserve to try to keep a lid on inflation.  Of course, that was not why we had a petroleum reserve.  But the Democrats do not care.  They have an election to win.

What magic rabbit will the Dems try to bamboozle the public with next?

The US and other western countries decided to airdrop “humanitarian aid” into Gaza City.  At last report five people were killed when some parachutes failed to deploy and the aid packages smashed to the ground.

Is this failing of parachutes to work another example of DEI hiring at work?

The NYPost reports that long COVID could be the reason for one’s bad hangovers.  I would have guessed that it was too much beer.  I guess I must have had long COVID some 50 years ago.

Steve Watson over at Modernity News noted a highly unusual moment on CNN recently.

In a rare collectors moment, CNN took time Tuesday to give Donald Trump credit regarding illegal immigration, admitting that the US does “have a problem,” at the border and that Biden has “made the problem worse.”

Well, well.  Pigs may fly yet.

During Biden’s State of the Union ranting, Townhall tweeted, “Joe Biden gets heckled by Gold Star Father Steve Nikoui.

“His son, Lance Col. Kareem Nikoui, was killed by a terrorist suicide bomber during Joe Biden’s disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan.”

They arrested him.

They gave him a $50 desk appearance ticket.

Hmm.  So why are the J6 protesters still in prison?

Layoff announcements in February hit their highest level for the month since the global financial crisis in 2009, according to outplacement firm Challenger, Gray & Christmas.

This is Bidenomics or should I say Obamanomics at its best.  Layoffs continue to be a major problem in the economy.

DEI strikes again.  West Point has removed the words ‘duty, honor, country’ from its mission statement. Apparently those words are not appropriate in our current Army.
