Odds & Ends

The Key bridge collapse is and will be in the news cycle for some time to come.  A question comes to mind over the sequence of events.

Biden jumped in and very quickly declared that the taxpayers would foot the whole bill for rebuilding the bridge.  This is very strange.  In East Palestine, Ohio, Biden said the train company would be responsible for any and all costs.  With the Maui fires Biden had almost nothing to say.  If we go back to the BP oil spill in the Gulf, BP shelled out billions for the cleanup.  So, why isn’t Biden holding the company that operated the ship responsible monetarily?

Of course, if the shipping company or its insurers went to court, there would be a discovery phase.  Is there something that the administration does not want to come out?

Remember Oswald acted alone.  Russia blew up the Nordstream pipeline.  Two weeks to flatten the pandemic curve.

Mmm.

Democrat strategist Paul Begala compared third party candidates to cockroaches during a recent appearance on CNN.  This shows how absolutely terrified Democrats are about third-party candidates taking votes away from Biden.

Begala:

“Third parties elected Donald Trump in 2016, about six to seven percent of Americans voted third-party. That third-party vote dropped to less than two, which is how Biden won. So, anything over two, Democrats are in trouble. Kennedy alone is getting 15 in some of these places. So yeah, my view is third parties, they’re like cockroaches in the kitchen, okay?”

“It’s not what they carry off that upsets you. It’s what they fall into and foul up. Bobby Kennedy can fall into every swing state and foul it up for Joe Biden and throw the whole election to Donald Trump. So, I’m very happy as a Democrat that the Democrats are on this because it’s a very real threat.”

If PDJT had said something like this, how would the media react?

The Third US Circuit Court of Appeals on Wednesday ruled that mail-in ballots with no dates cannot be counted by Pennsylvania election officials.

Democrats have used this tactic frequently to add more ballots to their candidate’s totals following election day.

This stops the Democrat Party insanity and lawlessness for the moment.

I am certain that the Dems are looking to see how else they might steal elections in PA.

The Baltimore bridge collapse will trigger one of the largest insurance losses in history, Lloyd’s of London has warned.  Lloyd’s has predicted that the disaster would likely trigger a multibillion-pound loss once all claims are settled.

The insurance loss could land between $1bn (£800m) and $3bn.

The ship was insured through Britannia, one of 12 protection and indemnity clubs that insure 90pc of the world’s shipping. Britannia is still assessing the situation as the investigation continues.

The good news with the Baltimore losses is the vessel is insured, the bridge is insured, the Port Authority is insured.  So from a financial perspective, there is legitimate insurance cover in force.

The Port of Baltimore is America’s largest terminal for importing cars and its closure led many automotive manufacturers to seek new routes.

Question:  If this turns out to be a terrorist event, does that change the insurance situation?
