Arrest

Newark, NJ, Mayor Ras Baraka and three congressional representatives, Bonnie Watson Coleman, Rob Menendez and LaMonica McIver attempted a political stunt at a local ICE detention facility in Newark.  Mayor Ras Baraka was arrested and charged with trespass.

Interim US Attorney for the District of New Jersey Alina Habba said Mayor Baraka was taken into custody after he ignored multiple warnings from DHS agents.  Delaney Hall is a 1,000-bed detention facility being used by ICE in removing illegal aliens from the country.

Alina Habba:

“The Mayor of Newark, Ras Baraka, committed trespass and ignored multiple warnings from Homeland Security Investigations to remove himself from the ICE detention center in Newark, New Jersey this afternoon. He has willingly chosen to disregard the law. That will not stand in this state. He has been taken into custody. NO ONE IS ABOVE THE LAW.”

Apparently, these people were outside the first checkpoint when a bus entered the facility grounds through the gate.  They rushed the gate and stormed inside.

Perhaps Mayor Baraka (D) thought that he was immune from being charged with federal crimes since he is a member of a protected class.  Baraka ran to CNN to make his case.  Baraka said he has no regrets about what happened.  If convicted, this can be used against him as showing no remorse for the crime(s) he committed.

This is criminal trespass.  Since the J6 people got 48 months behind bars, that would seem appropriate for him especially given the lack of remorse that he showed on TV.

These Democrats are getting worse and worse. They no longer fight for Americans. Here are some of the people detained at this facility that the Democratic Congress critters and Baraka were fighting for.

PER DHS: CHINCHILLA CABALLERO is in ICE custody pending removal proceedings. CABALLERO is a positive match to numerous TECS lookouts and is a known active member of MS-13.

ESTEVEZ has multiple felony convictions for possession of a controlled dangerous substance, drug trafficking, resisting arrest, and possession of a weapon for unlawful purposes. ESTEVEZ has active gang affiliation with street gang “Dominicans don’t play”. he will remain in ICE custody pending a removal hearing.

PER DHS: On May 5, 2025, ICE Newark arrested Maximo NUNEZ, a 58-year-old citizen of Dominican Republic. NUNEZ has felony arrests for possession of a controlled dangerous substance, obstruct administration of law, aggravated unlicensed driving, assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, interfere with custody of children. He will remain in ICE custody pending a removal hearing.

Asking for a friend, does this arrest make the Mayor an insurrectionist?  This sounds like subverting the rule of law and subverting the country as well.  Many J6ers were considered such for the act of walking through the Capitol.

How do the people of Newark feel about their mayor wanting to keep violent felons on the streets?

We need to see more such actions by ICE when elected officials violate their oath of office and obstruct the administration of justice.
