According to Raphael Lemkin, the central definition of genocide was “the destruction of a nation or of an ethnic group” in which its members were not targeted as individuals, but rather as members of the group. From an international law perspective, the Genocide Convention limits it to any of five acts “committed with intent to destroy, in whole or in part, a national, ethnical, racial or religious group.”
Those five acts are:
- Killing members of the group;
- Causing serious bodily or mental harm to members of the group;
- Deliberately inflicting on the group conditions of life calculated to bring about its physical destruction in whole or in part;
- Imposing measures intended to prevent births within the group;
- Forcibly transferring children of the group to another group
The colloquial understanding of genocide is heavily influenced by the Holocaust as its model. Genocide is innocent victims being targeted for their ethnic identity. Genocide is widely considered to be the epitome of human evil and is often referred to as the “crime of crimes.”
With all of this as background, should the persecution of white farmers in South Africa be considered genocide?
It is said that the President of the United States has a bully pulpit. We saw this last week when President Trump used the Oval Office and the visit by South African President Cyril Ramaphosa to call out the horrific violence taking place against white Afrikaner farmers. This moment was the biggest international spotlight ever placed on this issue.
President Trump showed a video of political activists within South Africa calling for the murder of white farmers. Another video showed thousands of white crosses erected to call attention to the issue. Some called this an ambush by PDJT. If the truth is an ambush, then I agree to the description.
The media’s Marxist army has been denying the atrocities while using political correctness as both a cover and justification for the slaughter. Then there are the land seizures.
From Politico:
…”Additionally, the president’s claims of land seizures are exaggerated. While Ramaphosa signed a law earlier this year laying out circumstances in which the state can seize land for public purposes, most landowners are compensated.”… (link)
Does the media even hear or read what they are saying? What idiot wrote this? The farmers do not want to sell their land. The farmers do not want to be “compensated.” The forced taking of the land, with or without compensation, is seizure, plain and simple.
Then there is the issue of the actual murders of white farmers.
Norman Fenton notes:
The mainstream media have dismissed the hypothesis of a ‘genocide’ against white farmers in South Africa as a conspiracy theory, but they are using the wrong data. When the correct data are used there is statistically significant evidence that white farmers are currently at least three times more likely to be murdered than black farmers. Moreover, the recent annual murder rate of white farmers is more than double the overall annual murder rate for South Africa.
Big Media denies the genocide claim. Big Media reports accurately that
- blacks are far more likely to be murder victims generally;
- the proportion of farmers among the murdered is small;
- there are far more white farmers than black farmers.
However, none of this addresses the claim that white farmers are significantly more likely to be murdered than the average person in South Africa or that white farmers are being killed at a significantly higher rate than black farmers.
Fenton has done an extensive data analysis of the murder rates in South Africa. The aggregated data for 2017 to 2022 are shown below.

This is stunning and very alarming given that South Africa’s murder rate is one of the highest in the world. It is highly likely that the murder rate for white farmers is at least three times that for black farmers. And the perpetrators are almost always black.
Is this genocide? How many have to be killed to qualify as a genocide?
The President of South Africa demanding that we don’t see this is a deliberate genociding of Whites by Blacks is one thing. Demanding that we don’t call it that, claiming that speech like that will make it worse, is a disgusting, victim shaming mockery and the vilest of pretending.
This is a replay of Rhodesia now known as Zimbabwe. The whites farmed and fed the country. The country turned against them, seized their land and killed a lot of farmers. Five years later, we saw starving Zimbabwean children on our nightly news. USAID sent money there which was promptly expropriated by the wealthy.
This is what is going to happen in South Africa. We must learn from the Rhodesia/Zimbabwe fiasco. I think PDJT is trying to do that. What a great way to show the corruption of a country when the man sat feet away after lying his head off. He was stunned!! Ramaposse clearly underestimated President Trump. Didn’t his staff tell him the president was not Joe Biden?
This kind of non-pretending is what will expose the depths of corruption around the world. We need more of this.
