Rubio vs Margaret Brennan

Margaret Brennan, the face for Face The Nation, faced off against Marco Rubio, our Secretary of State, over the bombing of Iran.  The outcome is an epic broadcast of media bias, dramatic acting by Brennan and a very visible smackdown from a highly competent Rubio.  If this interview was a basketball game, the mercy rule would have been in effect early.

Let’s be reminded that Rubio was a member of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence (SSCI) for years and was also a member of the gang of eight which conducts oversight for intelligence matters.  Brennan attempts to tell Marco Rubio what intelligence assessments are and how they are used.  The result was an absolute embarrassment for the producers of Face The Nation.

Let’s be reminded that PDJT would prefer peace.  Some people might call him a peacenik, an opponent of war.  I believe that is true.  However, his commitment to peace does not blind him to necessity of exercising military might when there is no other option.

With Iran, there is little doubt that the only way to bring them to the negotiating table was this way.  For decades Iran‘s leadership has chanted “Death to America, Death to Israel.”  For decades Iran has sponsored terrorism all over the world.  To allow them a nuke would have placed the entire world in jeopardy from the insane radicals running the country.  As Rubio notes repeatedly, Trump was not going to let this happen on his watch.

Brennan tries to say that no order was given in Iran to move to creating such a weapon.  Rubio demolished this argument by noting several times that there is no use for 60% enriched uranium in a civilian nuclear program.  There is only one use for such material and that’s to make a weapon.  Why would this process be buried inside a mountain?

Brennan’s attempts to discredit this idea as being premature were amateurish and exposed her bias against this administration.  Particularly galling were her constant attempts to interrupt Rubio when he was given very clear and coherent explanations of what was going on.  One might think Brennan did not want the American public to know facts.

The American public is not used to this kind of fact telling.  This was straight and unspun truth.  Brennan was outgunned and had very little to add the interview other than irritation.

Marco Rubio once again displays his abilities to support our president.  He is very articulate and stays on point despite the constant interruptions.

The ball is now in Iran’s court.  What path will they choose?
