A Turning Point…Part 2

It was a memorial unlike any other — probably the biggest, and one of the most beautiful, in U.S. history.  The crowds were huge, at least here three or four times the predicted turnout.  At least 200,000 people came, only 70,000 of whom could pack into the stadium.  Hundreds of millions around the world watched this memorial.  They came from all over the world.  This was a revival.

In a rather remarkable moment, Secretary of State Marco Rubio delivered a tribute to Charlie Kirk filled with purpose and faith.  Rubio gave an incredible speech on Sunday at Charlie Kirk’s memorial service.

Rubio begins with good natured humor; this cognitively breaks the psychological drag of recent memory. Secretary Rubio then begins to speak eloquently about the impact of Charlie Kirk and the light he brought to a generation.  Rubio bears witness.

There were many who bore witness on Sunday.  Few did it as well as Rubio did.  Charlie’s battle was political, but at its core was spiritual…good vs evil…the gospel of Jesus vs the ruler of the world.

Toward the end of his remarks, Secretary Rubio then enmeshed the truth of Charlie’s message to the life of Christ, and the immortal connection that binds a Christian nation in spiritual purpose.

Rubio was passionate about just what Charlie Kirk had accomplished in his short life.  It was clear just how much respect Rubio has for Charlie Kirk and the work that he did.  Rubio talked about the wisdom that was Charlie Kirk.  He talked about Charlie’s willingness to engage those who disagreed with him.  Charlie did this openly, respectfully, peacefully.

This may be the best speech Marco Rubio has ever delivered.  I really respected his humility. Admitting that, at times, you took the ‘easy path’ or ‘road of least resistance’ a time or two in your life shows a humility that translates to the ability to repent, and to own-up.

There has been a remarkable transition of Marco Rubio.  He gave an awesome, clear and concise presentation of the Gospel. Rubio spoke eloquently about his faith.  God bless him.
