Irreconcilable Differences…Part 4

To recap previous discussions, tens of thousands of people on the Left actually celebrated and shared their celebration of the horrific murder of Charlie Kirk in front of his family.  It was akin to lemmings running off a cliff into the sea.  And for some the result was no less catastrophic when they were fired from their jobs.

Charlie Kirk represented the way that political dialogue should take place.  Charlie was respectful and attempted to use facts to persuade the younger generation.

There are many issues where there are significant differences in ideology between the insanity of the Left and the common sense of the Right.  One such issue is the “trans” issue.  One side wants the “right” to mutilate children over an “illness” that has no biological markers.  The other side wants to protect children from such abuse.

While the Left has few facts at their disposal to counter the Right on these issues, that does not mean they are without ammunition.  The tired epithets of racism, white supremacy and Nazism still rally some of the more cognitively impaired to their cause.  And their numbers are not insignificant as the reaction to Kirk’s assassination shows.  Their latest approach appears to equate standing one’s ground with being un-American.

Kevin Dolan:

What we learned [from the Kirk assassination] (if we didn’t know it before) is that our media, our military, our intelligence services, our schools, our hospitals, are absolutely lousy with this kind of person.

And we know they aren’t interested in dialogue, because they told us so.

Because he spoke basic truths embraced by millions of Americans — your dad, your uncles, and certainly all of your ancestors — these people told us (in public, under their real names) that Charlie Kirk deserved to have his throat opened in front of his children.

Let that sink in for a moment.  Hundreds of thousands of people in this country approved of the assassination of Charlie Kirk.  And these people were not shy about doing so.  Some even called for the killing of the rest of his family.

This is clearly a turning point.

Kevin Dolan:

They (correctly) intuit that no accommodation between our perspectives is possible — and because they are at war with reality, any further dialogue (of Charlie’s kind, on the facts) can only erode their support and weaken their position.

Commentators should, of course, continue Charlie’s work — it is good to peel off defectors, and to give Trump-loving normies ammunition to act with enthusiasm and confidence.

But to this (apparently enormous) cohort of die-hards, there is nothing else to say. Somebody has to win, and it needs to be the side that is not insane….

And the insanity continued recently.  Two more mass shootings.  One in North Carolina on Saturday where someone in a power boat pulled up to a restaurant on a lake and shot up the place.  The other was in Michigan on Sunday when a nut crashed his truck into a church, opened fire on the congregation and then set the building on fire.

Then there is this little gem.  At the Ashland County Fair, the Democrats set up a booth and were selling the items seen below.

This from the party that claims they are peaceful and tolerant and want to “lower the temperature.”

Common sense prevailed.  They were kicked out of the fair.  The incident has been referred to the Secret Service.  When they show you who they are, believe them.

Society is teetering on the edge of insanity.  And there are many people on the Left that want to tip it over. They have been led to this point by those who lost an election last year.

Chuck Schumer (D-NY) had the audacity to say this: “Violence which affects so many people of different political persuasions is an affliction. We need to come together, not point fingers and blame.” He’s begging the country not to blame his party, because he knows his party is guilty of extreme incitement to violence.

On the other end of the Democratic Party, Eric Swalwell of Fang-Fang fame is openly saying that the Democrats plan to weaponize the government against their political opponents if and when they return to power.  Appearing on CNN Monday Morning, Swalwell wasn’t even trying to hide it. He was openly vowing to weaponize Congress as a political bludgeon, promising to rain down subpoenas not just on government officials, but on private businesses, schools, and law firms guilty of nothing more than association with Trump.

In other words, Swalwell was trying to intimidate people, businesses, schools etc.  Swalwell’s threat isn’t a gaffe or a misstatement; it’s calculated. It’s a chilling declaration of political vengeance.  The Democrats have been doing this for a long time.

How insane have things gotten?  When Iryna was killed on the light rail in Charlotte, NC, there were three people right across the aisle. And when they saw her collapse, what did they do?   They each got up, solitarily walked right by her in her last gasp—did not offer a tourniquet, did not offer to help, did not call anybody.  Why?

This is what Victor Davis Hanson would call upside-down morality.  We don’t show compassion or anything for the victim.  Why?  Does the victim have to fall into a particular status like race, sexual orientation or something else before we care about them?

Where does all this leave us?  Kevin Dolan says, “The future is people you can trust.”  Ain’t that the truth!  In a world of lies and propaganda, the future really is people you can trust.

Who can you trust?  Covid revealed that we cannot trust our kids’ teachers.  Declassification has revealed that we cannot trust the FBI.  TWA Flight 800 revealed that we cannot trust the news media.  And the list goes on and on.

Where do we go from here?
